Job Summary
- Design, implement, secure, and manage scalable cloud infrastructure on Amazon Web Services (AWS).
- Focus on cloud architecture, automation, security, and compliance with the NIST Cybersecurity Framework (CSF) and related standards.
Job Description
- Build, manage, and maintain cloud infrastructure, storage, and network solutions (AWS, GovCloud, etc.).
- Provide expertise in AWS cost modeling (allocation, forecasting, optimization strategies such as Savings Plans, Reserved Instances, spot usage, rightsizing).
- Continuously analyze and optimize cloud spend using AWS Cost Explorer, CUR, and third-party platforms.
- Educate and mentor engineering teams on AWS best practices, cloud architecture, and cost-efficient design patterns.
- Lead cloud architecture decisions and provide technical guidance to engineering teams.
- Develop and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform or AWS CloudFormation.
- Implement security controls (IAM, encryption, logging, monitoring).
- Work with containerization and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes, Amazon EKS, Amazon ECS).
- Implement cloud infrastructure hardening (STIGs, etc.).
- Identify and remediate vulnerabilities (e.g., WIZ).
- Provide modest-level 24x7 on-call support for key systems.
- Ensure compliance with DoD 8140 Certification requirements.
- Must be a U.S. citizen and able to obtain U.S. Government security clearance.
Minimum Requirements
- 7+ years of experience in IT infrastructure or cloud engineering.
- 5+ years of hands-on experience with AWS services (EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda, VPC, IAM, CloudWatch, etc.).
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electronic Engineering, Computer Engineering, or equivalent experience.
- Strong experience with:
- Cloud infrastructure, storage, and networking
- AWS cost modeling and optimization
- IaC tools (Terraform, CloudFormation)
- Security controls and vulnerability remediation
- Containerization and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes, EKS, ECS)
Preferred Qualifications
- cArmy experience highly preferred.
- AWS Professional-level certifications (Solutions Architect Professional, DevOps Engineer Professional).
- Experience with compliance frameworks (NIST 800-171, NIST 800-53).
- Understanding of and experience with Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification (CMMC) program.
- Knowledge of managing Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI) in cloud environments.
