Junior Cloud Engineer
Location: Harrisburg, PA (Hybrid)
Reports to/Team Dynamic: Conservation and environment delivery center
Rate: Competitive, based on experience
About the Role:
We’re seeking a motivated and curious Junior Cloud Engineer who is eager to build a long-term career in cloud engineering. This role is ideal for someone with at least a year of hands-on experience supporting cloud-based environments who thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative setting. You’ll work closely with experienced cloud engineers to design, support, and optimize cloud infrastructure while continuing to grow your technical expertise across AWS and Azure platforms. We’re looking for someone who takes initiative, asks great questions, and is determined to become an expert in the cloud space.
What You’ll Do:
- Support cloud infrastructure environments with a primary focus on AWS and exposure to Azure
- Assist in deploying, monitoring, and maintaining cloud-based resources and services
- Troubleshoot cloud-related issues and escalate complex problems as needed
- Collaborate with senior engineers on architecture improvements, migrations, and optimization efforts
- Implement security, cost-management, and performance best practices in cloud environments
- Document configurations, processes, and solutions to support team knowledge sharing
- Proactively identify opportunities to improve reliability, efficiency, and scalability
What You Bring:
- 1+ year of professional experience working in a cloud environment or similar infrastructure role
- Hands-on experience with AWS core services (EC2, S3, IAM, VPC, etc.)
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Azure and cloud fundamentals
- AZ-900 (Microsoft Azure Fundamentals) certification strongly preferred
- Understanding of networking, operating systems, and basic scripting concepts
- High level of self-motivation, curiosity, and ownership over your work
- Assertive communicator who is eager to learn, grow, and become a subject-matter expert
