NETGEAR is looking for an experienced Senior Switching Software Engineer to join our engineering teams in Chennai and Bangalore.
This role focuses on building and enhancing managed Ethernet switching solutions for SME markets, working on Layer 2/Layer 3 switching software and contributing to high‑performance products ranging from 10Gb to 400Gb.
Role Highlights:
- Develop and maintain switching software for NETGEAR’s managed and unmanaged switches
- Implement switching protocols such as STP, VLAN, LACP, and other L2/L3 features
- Hands‑on development using C/C++ (and Python exposure) on Linux/Unix platforms
- Collaborate closely with hardware, product management, and QA teams
- Participate in architecture discussions, code reviews, and integration testing
Experience Required:
- 5+ years of embedded switching software development
- Strong experience with managed switch products or SME networking solutions
- Solid understanding of Ethernet switching architecture and protocols
- Proven product‑delivery mindset in customer‑focused environments
