Title: DevOps Engineer
Pay Rate: $140k - $160k/year
Hours: Full-Time
Location: San Diego, CA
Summary:
We are seeking a skilled DevOps Engineer to support and enhance cloud-based infrastructure and deployment processes across both existing and next-generation platforms. In this role, you will work within a current production environment while also helping design and implement improvements for a new system architecture built on AWS.
You will play a key role in driving DevOps best practices, improving scalability and security, and supporting continuous delivery pipelines. The ideal candidate is hands-on, highly technical, and experienced in building and maintaining modern cloud infrastructure in a fast-paced environment.
What You’ll Do:
- Design, implement, and maintain cloud-based application solutions, primarily within AWS
- Support and optimize deployment processes, including monitoring, scaling, and release management
- Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines to support continuous delivery and automation
- Identify and implement improvements to infrastructure, performance, and system reliability
- Conduct vulnerability assessments and implement security best practices
- Manage system access, permissions, and configurations across multiple environments
- Collaborate with engineering teams to support development and operational needs
- Participate in technical research and innovation to improve DevOps capabilities
- Support ongoing operational DevOps activities for existing production systems
What You Bring:
- 5+ years of experience in DevOps, DevSecOps, or system administration
- 7+ years of overall industry experience or equivalent
- Strong experience designing and implementing CI/CD pipelines and automation tools (e.g., Jenkins, TravisCI)
- Hands-on experience with AWS services and cloud-native architectures
- Experience building and deploying SaaS applications, including serverless architectures (Lambda, DynamoDB, etc.)
- Strong knowledge of configuration management, orchestration, and automation tools
- Extensive Linux administration and shell scripting experience
- Experience with GitHub and version control best practices
- Experience managing multiple environments with a focus on data security and compliance
- Strong collaboration and communication skills
- AWS certifications
- Experience or strong interest in leveraging AI/ML tools to improve development, deployment, or operational workflows
Bonus Points If You Have:
- Experience with SaltStack or similar configuration tools
- Experience tuning Nginx and PHP environments
- Familiarity with microservices architecture
- Experience with database administration (DBA)
- Coding experience in PHP, JavaScript, React, Node.js, or MySQL
