Must have skills:
- Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in cloud infrastructure, operations, or engineering roles, with deep hands-on proficiency in AWS and Azure (primarily AWS-focused)
- Demonstrated ability working with infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform, CI/CD pipeline frameworks, and identity management platforms like Entra ID and IAM
- Solid grasp of cloud governance frameworks and FinOps principles, including cost analysis, spend optimization, and financial accountability across cloud environments
- Track record of success in post-migration settings — transforming lift-and-shift deployments into optimized, modernized infrastructure
- Proven capability in managing, directing, and holding external strategic delivery partners accountable for quality, alignment, and results
- Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities, with confidence engaging application teams and third-party vendors to shape technical direction; AWS or Azure Solutions Architect certification is strongly preferred
Responsibilities:
- Assess and evaluate current AWS and Azure environments following a large-scale migration, providing recommendations to reconfigure, modernize, and enhance infrastructure for improved performance, scalability, and cost-effectiveness
- Collaborate directly with application teams to adjust infrastructure configurations, boost reliability, resolve security vulnerabilities, and close gaps in monitoring and observability
- Analyze cloud consumption and expenditures across all environments, identifying opportunities for savings in areas like compute and storage while improving reporting transparency and operational efficiency
- Deliver governance and oversight to the external cloud operations partner, reviewing their deliverables, ensuring adherence to architectural standards, and maintaining accountability for quality and timely execution
- Support identity management initiatives, security and compliance efforts, and partner with database administrators on cloud-related system and database work
- Contribute to ongoing monitoring, reporting, and incident resolution activities across the organization's multi-cloud footprint
