💡 The Opportunity
We are seeking an experienced Cloud / Solutions Architect to lead the end-to-end architecture and modernization strategy for a large-scale forecasting platform moving from traditional desktop architecture to a modern Azure-based SaaS ecosystem.
You will define the technical direction, architectural standards, and modernization roadmap across cloud infrastructure, backend services, database architecture, security, CI/CD, and legacy system integration.
This role is highly hands-on and ideal for someone who enjoys balancing strategic architecture with practical engineering execution.
In this role, you will:
- Architect a multi-tenant SaaS platform on Azure with enterprise-grade scalability and security
- Design PostgreSQL multi-tenant strategies and high-performance data architectures
- Modernize legacy forecasting systems and integrate existing C++/MFC components with cloud-native services
- Define backend architecture using NestJS, TypeScript, Prisma, and PostgreSQL
- Establish scalable deployment and DevOps patterns using Azure Container Apps, Docker, Bicep, and GitHub Actions
- Lead architectural decision-making while mentoring engineering teams
- Work closely with distributed product and engineering stakeholders in an async-first environment
🎯 What You'll Do
Architecture & Platform Strategy
- Define the end-to-end architecture for a cloud-native multi-tenant SaaS platform
- Design tenant isolation strategies, scalability models, and secure enterprise data boundaries
- Architect backend services using NestJS, TypeScript, Prisma ORM, and PostgreSQL
- Define API standards, service boundaries, and distributed system communication patterns
- Create migration strategies from legacy thick-client systems to modern web/cloud platforms
- Architect integration approaches between modern services and existing C++/MFC forecasting components using libpq and native interoperability patterns
- Design highly available and fault-tolerant Azure infrastructure
Cloud & Infrastructure
- Architect and implement Azure infrastructure including:
- Azure Container Apps (ACA)
- Azure PostgreSQL Flexible Server
- Azure Storage
- Azure Entra ID
- Azure Networking and Identity services
- Design secure infrastructure patterns with governance, auditability, and compliance in mind
- Define CI/CD and deployment standards using GitHub Actions and Bicep
- Drive containerization strategy using Docker
- Establish observability, monitoring, backup, disaster recovery, and operational best practices
Engineering Leadership
- Provide technical leadership across backend, cloud, and platform engineering teams
- Review architecture, code, database design, and deployment patterns
- Mentor engineers on scalable SaaS design and cloud-native development
- Participate in technical planning, roadmap discussions, and architecture reviews
- Drive engineering best practices for maintainability, reliability, testing, and security
Modernization & Performance
- Optimize PostgreSQL schema design, indexing, and query performance
- Design migration pathways for enterprise customers moving from desktop deployments to SaaS
- Ensure performance and scalability for data-intensive forecasting workloads
- Collaborate with teams building advanced forecasting and analytical systems
🌟 Who You Are
Required Experience
- 8+ years of software engineering and architecture experience
- 5+ years designing cloud-native platforms and distributed systems
- Strong experience architecting multi-tenant SaaS applications
- Deep expertise with:
- NestJS
- TypeScript
- Prisma ORM
- PostgreSQL
- Strong Azure architecture experience:
- Azure Container Apps (ACA)
- Azure PostgreSQL Flexible Server
- Azure Entra ID
- Azure networking and identity services
- Experience with Docker-based deployment architectures
- Experience with GitHub Actions and Infrastructure-as-Code using Bicep
- Experience integrating legacy/native applications with modern services
- Familiarity with C++, MFC, and libpq integration patterns
- Strong understanding of enterprise application modernization strategies
