The DevOps Engineer supports the Application Production Support business domains in the adoption, design, and operation of Cloud and DevOps CI/CD technologies. Leveraging deep technical expertise, the role drives continuous improvement and automation of production‑grade tools and pipelines. By ensuring production requirements are taken into account when defining technical solutions, maintains the stability of both production and non‑production environments, and oversees the monitoring and supervision of those solutions. The role participates in project‑team meetings, contributes to collective decisions on complexity, risk, etc., and works with Application Production Support to identify and disseminate best‑practice production procedures.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as the production guarantor across the full project cycle.
- Contribute to the definition of technical solutions, guaranteeing stability of Production and non‑Production environments.
- Monitor, supervise and continuously improve the technical solutions in operation.
- Participate in project‑team meetings and contribute to collective decisions on complexity, risk, etc.
- Identify good application‑production practices together with Application Production Support and share them widely.
- Guide APS teams through Cloud migration and DevOps best‑practice implementation.
- Design, deploy and maintain robust CI/CD workflows that are secure, repeatable and fast.
- Identify inefficiencies in existing production tooling and deliver automated solutions that increase reliability and reduce manual effort.
- Act as a technical advisor and knowledge‑transfer partner, fostering a culture of automation and operational excellence.
Contributing Responsibilities
- Propose and drive continuous‑improvement initiatives for application‑production services.
- Identify, document and disseminate best practices within the entity and across the group.
- Ensure that up‑to‑date, validated installation and operating documentation is readily available.
- Provide the team with the right expertise and production services, including:
– Service monitoring
– Management of technical environments (Production & non‑Production)
– Facilitation of solution deployment.
Education, Qualification & Skills Required
- Degree in engineering, computer science, information technology or a closely related field and possess at least four years of relevant professional experience in infrastructure operations, Cloud/DevOps, or production support.
- Demonstrated proficiency with the core technical stack:
- Cloud & container platforms: IBM Cloud (or AWS/Azure) and Kubernetes (including Helm charts)
- Monitoring & security: Sysdig; firewalls and Illiumio‑style network controls
- Secrets management: HashiCorp Vault
- CI/CD pipelines: GitLab CI, Jenkins, Digital.ai
- Infrastructure‑as‑Code: Ansible / Ansible Automation Platform
- Scripting: Bash, PowerShell
- OS administration: Linux and Windows
Preferred certifications (optional but advantageous):
