Support the trading technology and infrastructure of a fast-growing quantitative trading firm focused on sports and prediction markets. Founded five years ago, the firm has built its own proprietary data, statistical models, and pricing systems to generate trading opportunities across global betting exchanges and newer prediction markets. As an early mover in this space, the business has established a strong edge and continues to grow as larger trading firms begin entering the market.
This DevOps Engineer role sits within a small, high-impact team responsible for scaling and maintaining the firm’s trading infrastructure. You will work closely with traders, developers, and data teams to ensure systems are running reliably, troubleshoot issues, and build automation and internal tools that improve efficiency across the organization.
The environment is primarily Linux-based, with a focus on on-prem infrastructure while expanding further into the cloud. The stack includes Terraform for infrastructure provisioning, Ansible for configuration management, Grafana for monitoring and alerting, and growing adoption of Kubernetes, along with CI/CD pipelines. Exposure to SQL is helpful. The role involves a mix of support, automation, and infrastructure buildout in a fast-paced environment.
The team operates on a hybrid model with a strong presence in Chicago, and the working schedule typically follows a 4-on, 4-off rotation, which may include weekends or later hours depending on major sporting events. Compensation ranges from $150,000 to $175,000, plus performance bonus and benefits.
