Who are we?
RZR Global is an AI-driven company specializing in mobile advertising solutions designed to fuel revenue growth. We leverage AI to discover audiences in a privacy-first environment through trillions of contextual bidding signals and proprietary behavioral models. Our audience engagement platform includes creative strategy and execution. We handle 5 million mobile ad requests per second from over 10 billion devices, driving performance for both publishers and brands. We are headquartered in San Francisco, CA, with a global presence across the United States, EMEA, and APAC.
Role Overview
RZR is seeking a high-caliber Kubernetes & Platforms Engineer to join our Bangalore engineering hub. This role is the backbone of our container orchestration strategy, critical for the design, scaling, and management of the infrastructure powering our programmatic Demand-Side Platform (DSP).
You will transition our high-performance Real-Time Bidding (RTB) environment into a world-class, cloud-native ecosystem. Leveraging Kubernetes (K8s), Docker/Containerd, and Infrastructure-as-Code (Terraform/Pulumi), you will ensure our bidding services operate with sub-millisecond latency and massive horizontal scalability. You will collaborate with global SRE and Backend teams to bridge the gap between bare-metal performance and cloud-native agility.
Key Responsibilities
- Cluster Orchestration: Design, deploy, and maintain production-grade Kubernetes clusters across on-prem (bare metal) and hybrid cloud environments.
- Container Networking: Optimize K8s CNI plugins (e.g., Cilium, Calico) to handle high-throughput RTB traffic with minimal overhead.
- GitOps & Automation: Build and manage CI/CD pipelines using ArgoCD or Flux to ensure declarative, reproducible infrastructure.
- Performance Engineering: Fine-tune container runtimes and resource quotas (CPU/Memory pinning) for latency-sensitive applications.
- Observability: Implement deep-stack monitoring using Prometheus, Grafana, and Jaeger to trace requests across microservices.
- Security & Policy: Enforce cluster security using Network Policies, OPA/Gatekeeper, and automated vulnerability scanning for container images.
Required Skills / Experience
- Professional Experience: 3+ years in DevOps/SRE (6+ for Senior roles) with a heavy focus on containerization.
- Kubernetes Mastery: Deep internal knowledge of K8s components (Etcd, API Server, Scheduler) and CRD development.
- Linux Systems: Strong proficiency in Linux internals (namespaces, cgroups, eBPF) and shell scripting.
- Infrastructure as Code: Expert-level experience with Terraform or Pulumi.
- Service Mesh: Practical experience with Istio or Linkerd for traffic management and mTLS.
- Programming: Proficiency in Go (preferred for K8s operators) or Python.
- Degree: Bachelor’s or Master’s in Computer Science or a related technical field.
