Cloud Engineering supports the firm by delivering modern platform capabilities, observability services, and engineering enablement across distributed systems. The Platform Engineering team designs, builds, and maintains the cloud-native platform capabilities that enable engineering teams across the organisation. The platform is treated as an internal product, with a strong emphasis on automation, reliable foundations, reusable modules, and developer‑friendly tooling.
The Team

The platform is treated as an internal product, with a strong emphasis on automation, reliable foundations, reusable modules, and developer‑friendly tooling.
Resposnsibiities:
- Technical Leadership & DirectionLead the technical design and evolution of the cloud platform, ensuring consistency, scalability, and ease of adoption.
- Review and approve major engineering changes, IaC modules, and CI/CD workflows to maintain high engineering standards.
- Guide engineers on cloud architecture patterns, automation approaches, and platform best practices.
- Platform Architecture & DevelopmentShape the design of foundational platform components including identity, networking, compute/container runtimes, and service integrations.
- Drive development of reusable platform modules, templates, and golden paths that support engineering productivity.
- Enable secure, reliable, and compliant platform configuration through repeatable patterns.
- DevOps & Automation OwnershipProvide direction on CI/CD strategy, reusable pipeline templates, and workflow automation.
- Promote infrastructure and configuration automation using IaC frameworks.
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives that enhance platform reliability and developer experience.
- Cross‑Team Collaboration & InfluencePartner with Observability, Security, Service Management, and other engineering domains to ensure platform cohesion.
- Represent Platform Engineering in design discussions, architectural reviews, and cross‑functional engineering sessions.
- Mentoring & Capability DevelopmentMentor engineers, support skill development, and encourage strong engineering discipline.
Lead technical spikes, innovation efforts, and proof‑of‑concept assessments.
- Strong hands‑on experience with cloud infrastructure (identity, networking, compute, storage, container platforms).
- Solid working expertise in Infrastructure‑as‑Code (Terraform), including structuring modules and maintaining shared IaC.
- Practical knowledge of CI/CD engineering (YAML pipelines, reusable templates, quality gates, automation scripts).
- Good understanding of containerisation and orchestration concepts (Docker, Kubernetes fundamentals).
- Familiarity with cloud governance, policy enforcement, and standardised platform patterns.
- Able to reason about system behaviour, performance improvements, and platform scalability.
- Experience of working in an Enterprise environment.
- Participate in on‑call rotations to support high‑severity incidents resolution in a timely manner.
- Skilled in coaching engineers and elevating engineering standards across the team.
- Strong communication skills, able to simplify engineering decisions and align multiple stakeholders.
