Site Reliability / Platform Engineer -- St. Louis, MO
Our Fortune 1000 Financial Services client is looking for a dynamic SRE / Platform Engineer to join their team in St. Louis. This hybrid opportunity is ideal for engineers passionate about building and supporting large-scale, highly available, cloud-based platforms in a modern DevSecOps environment.
This team is focused on driving operational excellence through automation, infrastructure as code, proactive monitoring, and resilient system design. Key Responsibilities:
- Build, support, and improve large-scale, distributed, fault-tolerant systems
- Partner with development and operations teams to enhance system reliability, scalability, and performance
- Develop automation tools, scripts, and auto-remediation solutions
- Implement monitoring, alerting, and observability best practices
- Build and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using tools such as Terraform
- Support CI/CD pipelines and modern DevSecOps practices
- Participate in incident response and problem management in a 24/7 operational environment
Required Qualifications:
- 2–5 years of experience in Site Reliability Engineering, Platform Engineering, Systems Administration, or Software Engineering
- Experience working within public cloud environments (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
- Strong scripting or programming experience with Python, Bash, Java, Go, JavaScript, or Node.js
- Experience with Linux/Windows administration, automation, containers, and orchestration technologies (Docker, Kubernetes, Ansible, Chef, Terraform, etc.)
- Familiarity with monitoring, uptime management, and troubleshooting distributed systems
- Understanding of CI/CD tooling and infrastructure automation
Preferred Qualifications:
- Cloud certifications strongly preferred
- Strong troubleshooting and systems-thinking mindset
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
- Experience in highly regulated or enterprise-scale environments
