Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced DevOps Engineer for a hybrid contract in Austin, Texas.
Responsibilities:
Provide senior systems administration, platform operations, and DevOps automation support for a cybersecurity-focused enterprise IT environment. Operate, secure, monitor, and continuously improve Windows, Linux, and macOS systems along with virtualization, cloud, container, endpoint, identity, and collaboration platforms supporting mission-critical services.
Develop and maintain scripts, runbooks, source-controlled repositories, infrastructure-as-code artifacts, and repeatable operational procedures to improve reliability and reduce manual effort. Implement automation using scripting, APIs, Git-based workflows, CI/CD pipelines, and configuration management tools.
Support Kubernetes and containerized workloads, including deployments, troubleshooting, scaling, RBAC, and monitoring. Administer VMware/vSphere environments including provisioning, templates, networking coordination, snapshots, backup coordination, and performance tuning.
Perform public cloud operations across AWS, Azure, and GCP including IAM, networking, compute, storage, logging, and monitoring. Develop and maintain SOAR automation playbooks supporting security operations, incident response, alert enrichment, ticket automation, and service restoration workflows.
Support vulnerability remediation, patching, security hardening, backup and recovery, audit evidence collection, and incident response activities. Participate in migration, buildout, stabilization, and operational sustainment efforts while maintaining secure configuration baselines and access controls.
Coordinate with internal teams and vendors while adhering to security, compliance, and operational requirements.
Hybrid on-site work is required with occasional after-hours support as needed.
Minimum Qualifications:
• 8+ years of experience in senior systems administration, DevOps, SRE, or platform engineering supporting enterprise or government environments
• 5+ years’ experience in Linux and Windows server/endpoint administration including patching, hardening, troubleshooting, logging, and automation
• 3+ years of extensive experience in macOS administration or enterprise endpoint management, including device management, configuration baselines, and security controls
• 3+ years of experience in VMware/vSphere or equivalent virtualization platforms including provisioning, templates, snapshots, backup coordination, and performance management
• 3+ years of experience with Kubernetes or container platforms including deployments, Helm/manifests, RBAC, and operational monitoring
• 3+ years of experience using Git-based workflows, branching strategies, CI/CD concepts, and repository-based documentation
• 3+ years of extensive experience in scripting and automation using PowerShell, Bash, Python, Go, JavaScript, or similar, including API integration
• 2+ years of experience in AWS, Azure, and GCP cloud operations including IAM, networking, compute, storage, logging, and monitoring
• 2+ years of experience in security operations automation or SOAR platforms including playbook development, incident response support, and alert automation
• 2+ years of experience supporting security hardening, vulnerability remediation, incident response, audit readiness, or regulated environments
Preferred Qualifications:
• 3+ years of experience with Microsoft 365, Entra ID, Intune, Defender, Purview, Teams, SharePoint, or similar enterprise collaboration/security platforms
• 3+ years of knowledge of infrastructure as code and automation tools such as Terraform, Ansible, Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, or Azure DevOps
• 2+ years of experience supporting SOC operations, incident response, digital forensics, or 24x7 operational environments
• 2+ years of knowledge of monitoring and observability tools including logging, metrics, dashboards, alerting, and capacity planning
• 1+ year of certification or equivalent experience in Linux, Microsoft, VMware, Kubernetes, cloud, DevOps, or security domains
