DevOps Engineer
12-18 Month contract
Charlotte, NC (Hybrid - 3 days onsite)
$60-65/hour W2; Cannot work C2C OR 1099.
Senior DevOps Engineer with 7+ years of experience in containerization and cloud-native platform engineering, responsible for designing and managing Docker, Kubernetes, and OpenShift-based platforms while modernizing Java, .NET, Python, and database applications across hybrid environments, enabling scalable, secure, and automated application delivery.
• Design and implement containerization strategies using Docker and Open Container standards
• Build, manage, and optimize Kubernetes/OpenShift clusters
• Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines for container build, scan, and deployment (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, Harness)
• Integrate Bitbucket repositories with CI/CD pipelines and implement branch-based deployment workflows
• Implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using tools like Terraform or Ansible
• Integrate container image scanning and security controls
• Manage container registries (Artifactory)
• Monitor and troubleshoot containerized applications
• Ensure high availability, scalability, and resilience of container platforms
• Experience with AI-assisted development tools (GitHub Copilot or similar)
• Partner with application teams to containerize and modernize workloads running on WebSphere, JBoss, Tomcat, IIS, and other legacy platforms for deployment on standardized DevOps platforms
• Experience with Datical for database change automation
• Experience with Splunk query creation / dashboards
