Job Description – Team Lead, Technology

About the Role
Vorro is hiring a Team Lead – Technology to guide an engineering team in building and scaling high-quality software products. This is a hands-on leadership role — you will mentor engineers, drive architectural decisions, and own end-to-end delivery of technology initiatives. We're looking for someone who loves code as much as they love building teams.
Key Responsibilities
Team Leadership
• Lead and mentor a team of engineers, fostering a culture of ownership and continuous improvement
• Conduct regular 1:1s, performance reviews, and growth planning
• Define coding standards, best practices, and code review processes
Technical Execution
• Architect and deliver scalable, reliable systems aligned with business goals
• Take hands-on ownership of critical features, code reviews, and technical debt
• Lead debugging and root-cause analysis for complex production issues
• Drive DevOps practices — CI/CD pipelines, cloud deployments, and monitoring
Product Collaboration
• Partner with Product and Design teams to translate requirements into technical roadmaps
• Contribute to sprint planning, backlog grooming, and product engineering discussions
• Ensure technical feasibility and quality at every stage of the product lifecycle
Platform & Architecture
• Own the design and evolution of core platform components including cloud-native services and Elasticsearch-based search
• Make technology decisions that balance speed, scalability, and long-term maintainability
Required Skills & Qualifications
• 5+ years of software engineering experience, with 2+ years in a tech lead or senior engineering role
• Experience integrating AI/ML capabilities into production applications — working with LLM APIs, building AI-powered features, prompt engineering, and frameworks such as LangChain or similar
• Strong proficiency in Java and backend development. Experience with (React, Node.js)
• Hands-on experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure) and cloud-native design
• Solid understanding of DevOps — CI/CD, Docker/Kubernetes, and infrastructure as code
• Experience with Elasticsearch or similar search/analytics engines
• Demonstrated ability to lead product engineering from concept to production
• Strong debugging skills with ability to diagnose complex system-level issues
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
Nice to Have
• Experience working closely with UX/design teams on product design
• Familiarity with agile/scrum methodologies at scale
• Background in SaaS product development
• Experience with observability tools such as Datadog or Grafana
