Job Description
We're looking for a hands-on Cloud Infrastructure Engineer who thrives at the intersection of cloud engineering, automation, identity management, and enterprise operations. You'll play a critical role in shaping our Azure cloud strategy, improving security and reliability, automating infrastructure deployments, and supporting a growing hybrid environment. Essential Job Functions
- Design, deploy, administer, and maintain Microsoft Azure cloud infrastructure in accordance with corporate architecture, cybersecurity, and compliance standards.
- Administer Azure subscriptions, resource groups, virtual networks, storage accounts, virtual machines, monitoring tools, and related cloud services.
- Support hub-and-spoke network architectures, hybrid connectivity, and secure integration between on-premises and cloud environments.
- Monitor Azure environments for performance, reliability, availability, utilization, and cost optimization.
- Assist with cloud migration, modernization, and infrastructure transformation initiatives.
- Administer Microsoft Entra ID (Azure AD), Active Directory, and related identity services.
- Manage user lifecycle activities including onboarding, transfers, role changes, license assignments, access reviews, and offboarding.
- Support Single Sign-On (SSO), Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA), Conditional Access, identity governance, role-based access control (RBAC), and privileged access management activities.
- Administer Active Directory objects, groups, organizational units, Group Policy, and hybrid identity synchronization services.
- Troubleshoot authentication, directory, access, and identity synchronization issues.
- Develop and maintain Infrastructure-as-Code solutions using Terraform and related deployment tools.
- Create, maintain, and optimize PowerShell scripts and automation workflows to reduce manual administrative work.
- Support Azure DevOps pipelines, deployment automation, configuration management, and infrastructure lifecycle activities.
- Support Microsoft 365 tenant administration and integrated cloud-based services.
- Assist with new employee account creation, provisioning, access updates, and technology onboarding activities.
- Execute and maintain standard automation scripts, operational procedures, and infrastructure support practices.
- Participate in change management, incident response, problem management, disaster recovery, and business continuity activities.
- Maintain accurate infrastructure diagrams, technical documentation, operational procedures, and support records.
- Support cloud-based applications and services used across the organization.
- May be assigned additional responsibilities to support department and business objectives.
Compliance and Quality Responsibilities
- Responsible for adhering to all applicable export laws and requirements of the Technology Control Plan to ensure export control compliance.
- Ensures quality requirements are followed according to all applicable procedures and standards, including the Quality Policy, Manual, Procedures, SOPs, and work instructions specific to the role.
- Maintains confidentiality and impartiality in all aspects of work, including protecting client information, employee information, infrastructure information, and proprietary processes.
- Complies with cybersecurity requirements outlined in the company handbook and all additional information security policies and procedures, with no exceptions.
- Supports audit, regulatory, cybersecurity, disaster recovery, business continuity, and evidence-gathering activities as required.
- Completes required training on time and follows all applicable company, compliance, cybersecurity, and quality requirements.
Qualifications
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Strong understanding of Microsoft Azure administration, cloud infrastructure, and hybrid cloud environments.
- Experience with Microsoft Entra ID, Active Directory, Azure AD Connect, Group Policy, SSO, MFA, Conditional Access, and RBAC.
- Experience developing automation scripts using PowerShell and supporting Infrastructure-as-Code using Terraform.
- Working knowledge of Azure DevOps, Git, CI/CD concepts, deployment automation, and configuration management practices.
- Knowledge of networking fundamentals including DNS, DHCP, VPNs, routing, firewalls, PKI, and network security concepts.
- Experience supporting Microsoft 365 tenant administration and integrated enterprise cloud services.
- Strong troubleshooting skills across cloud, identity, authentication, networking, server, and infrastructure services.
- Applies engineering principles to analyze problems, map systems, document root cause, and develop effective solutions.
- Communicates technical information clearly and adapts messaging to technical and non-technical audiences.
- Takes ownership, follows through on commitments, balances multiple priorities, and supports reliable service delivery.
- Demonstrates initiative, organization, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
- Identifies opportunities to improve reliability, simplify processes, automate work, and reduce operational risk.
Minimum Job Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 3+ years of experience supporting enterprise infrastructure environments.
- 2+ years of experience administering Microsoft Azure or comparable enterprise cloud environments.
- Experience administering Active Directory and Microsoft Entra ID (Azure AD).
- Experience with PowerShell scripting, automation, and infrastructure support.
- Knowledge of networking fundamentals including DNS, DHCP, VPNs, routing, firewalls, and related infrastructure services.
- Experience supporting Microsoft 365 environments.
- Strong troubleshooting, analytical, documentation, and problem-solving skills.
Preferred Experience
- Microsoft Azure Administrator Associate certification.
- Microsoft Azure Solutions Architect certification.
- Terraform Associate certification.
- Experience with Azure DevOps or similar CI/CD platforms.
- Experience implementing Infrastructure-as-Code methodologies and cloud deployment automation.
- Experience supporting hybrid cloud environments and cloud migration initiatives.
- Experience supporting regulated environments requiring compliance with frameworks such as ISO 27001, CMMC, ITAR, SOC, or similar standards.
- Familiarity with identity governance, privileged access management, monitoring, backup, recovery, and disaster recovery solutions.
- Experience with Windows Server, virtualization platforms, PKI, and enterprise infrastructure operations.
Physical Requirements
- Must be able to remain in a stationary position for extended periods of time while working at a computer.
- Ability to continuously operate a personal computer and related office equipment for extended periods of time.
- Ability to communicate clearly and understandably to ensure accurate exchange of information over the telephone, through virtual meetings, and in group settings.
- Ability to review technical documentation, diagrams, system information, and computer screens for extended periods of time.
- Must be able to learn new tasks, remember processes, maintain focus, complete tasks independently, and make timely decisions in the context of infrastructure support workflows.
- Some flexibility may be required for off-hours support, maintenance windows, incident response, or business continuity activities as needed.
