Release Engineer

Job Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled Build & Release Engineer with a strong background in release engineering and software delivery. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in continuous delivery (CD) pipeline design, automation, and optimization, as well as expertise in deployment automation and orchestration. This role is critical for ensuring the smooth and efficient release of software products, and candidates with a primary focus on infrastructure operations or production support will not be suitable.
Responsibilities:
- Design, implement, and optimize continuous delivery (CD) pipelines to enhance software delivery processes.
- Automate production (PROD) and non-production (nPROD) deployment processes to ensure seamless releases.
- Manage Kubernetes application deployment and develop release tooling to support containerized applications.
- Develop GitHub Actions workflows and reusable automation scripts to streamline development processes.
- Integrate various software delivery toolchains, including GitHub, Atlassian Confluence, JIRA, JSM, Dynatrace, Sentry, and LaunchDarkly.
- Implement deployment orchestration, validation, and rollback capabilities to ensure reliable releases.
- Establish release traceability, deployment evidence, and reporting automation for compliance and auditing purposes.
- Enhance deployment observability, telemetry, and engineering insights to improve system reliability.
- Provide production deployment and release support, troubleshooting issues as they arise.
- Continuously enhance software delivery capabilities and automation to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
Mandatory Skills:
- Strong experience in Build & Release Management.
- Proven expertise in continuous delivery (CD) pipeline design and automation.
- Hands-on experience with Kubernetes application deployment and release tooling.
- Proficient in GitHub Actions workflow development and automation.
- Experience with software delivery toolchain integration (e.g., GitHub, Atlassian Confluence, JIRA, JSM, Dynatrace, Sentry, LaunchDarkly).
- Knowledge of deployment orchestration, validation, and rollback processes.
- Ability to implement release traceability and reporting automation.
- Experience in deployment observability and telemetry.
Preferred Skills:
- Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools (e.g., Terraform, Ansible).
- Knowledge of monitoring and logging tools.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- 5-8 years of experience in Build & Release Management or related roles.
- Proven track record of successful software delivery and deployment automation.
