Cloud Engineer

We are seeking a Cloud Engineer to support and operate its production AWS environment. This contract role will focus on AWS infrastructure, Terraform automation, cloud networking, IAM, security, and day-to-day platform support while partnering with teams across IT, infrastructure, product software, data, and manufacturing.
This opportunity offers the chance to support cloud infrastructure behind cutting-edge autonomous mobility technology. You will work in a highly collaborative engineering environment, gain exposure to complex HPC, simulation, data, and manufacturing workloads, and contribute to the security and reliability of a large-scale, multi-team AWS platform.
Contract Duration: 6 months + extensions
Required Skills & Experience
· 5+ years of relevant cloud engineering or infrastructure experience
· Hands-on experience supporting AWS production environments across compute, storage, networking, and IAM
· Experience writing, modifying, and maintaining Infrastructure as Code using Terraform
· Working knowledge of AWS networking, including VPCs, subnets, routing, VPC peering, and security groups
· Experience provisioning and managing AWS accounts, IAM users and roles, cross-account access, and SSO groups
· Understanding of cloud security fundamentals, including least-privilege access, encryption, and secrets management
· Experience troubleshooting AWS infrastructure and resolving support requests across compute, storage, and networking
· Ability to follow documented tickets, playbooks, and runbooks accurately
· Strong written and verbal communication skills
· Ability to work independently on well-scoped tasks and escalate architectural or ambiguous issues appropriately
Desired Skills & Experience
· Experience with Terraform Cloud, Spacelift, or a similar centralized Infrastructure as Code platform
· Experience working in multi-account AWS environments using Landing Zones or AWS Control Tower
· Experience supporting containerized workloads using Kubernetes or Amazon EKS
· Familiarity with monitoring and alerting tools such as Grafana and Amazon CloudWatch
· Experience with AWS Secrets Manager or HashiCorp Vault
· Exposure to AI/ML, HPC, simulation, or other compute-intensive cloud workloads
· Familiarity with AMI and container compliance requirements
· Experience supporting integrations with third-party platforms such as MuleSoft
