About This Role
We are seeking an AWS Cloud DevOps Engineer to design, implement and maintain secure, scalable AWS networking and cloud infrastructure solutions for internal Vodafone applications and customers across Europe. This role focuses on high availability, compliance, cloud-native optimisation and operational support, including level two and level three incident and problem management for mission-critical infrastructure services.
The role is based in India within VCI Professional Services and supports AWS cloud platforms, EKS, RDS, Terraform-based infrastructure as code, GitOps practices, automation, monitoring and cloud service stability.
What You’ll Do
- Design, implement and maintain secure, scalable AWS cloud networking solutions aligned to availability and compliance requirements
- Manage project-led integration and the day-to-day administration of AWS cloud solutions
- Develop prototypes, modules and cloud platform solutions in alignment with the VFDE-CET framework and agile delivery cycles.
- Build and deploy AWS cloud infrastructure using Terraform and Terragrunt as infrastructure as code
- Use Bash and Python scripting to support routine operational tasks, including user management and security hardening
- Drive automation through CI/CD pipelines using tools such as GitHub Actions, Jenkins and ArgoCD
- Support EKS lifecycle management, CET-EKS components, Bottlerocket AMI rotations, worker node patching and Kubernetes cluster administration.
- Maintain and support AWS RDS services from an infrastructure perspective, including upgrades and rightsizing.
- Configure and maintain observability platforms, including Grafana dashboards and monitoring stacks
- Identify and implement AWS cost optimisation opportunities using tools such as AWS Cost Explorer and Budgets
- Manage security, vulnerability remediation and compliance activities across AWS and EKS environments.
- Perform proof of concept activities to improve AWS infrastructure capabilities
- Maintain and update operational and infrastructure documentation on Confluence
- Troubleshoot issues across cloud networking, storage, Kubernetes, platform performance and infrastructure resources.
- Support the adoption of DevOps culture and methodologies across the organisation
Who You Are
- You have strong experience in AWS cloud infrastructure, cloud networking, platform operations, security and automation
- You are experienced in Kubernetes administration, EKS lifecycle management, infrastructure components and capacity management.
- You can work confidently with Terraform, Terragrunt, Git, GitHub Actions, Jenkins, ArgoCD, Helm charts and GitOps practices
- You understand monitoring and observability practices, including Grafana dashboard configuration and platform monitoring stack management.
- You have experience supporting secure and compliant cloud environments, including vulnerability management and infrastructure hardening.
- You bring troubleshooting skills across cloud infrastructure, Kubernetes platforms, network, storage and performance management.
- You communicate clearly, document work effectively and collaborate across technical teams using agile ways of working.
- You have a degree in IT or equivalent experience, with three years of experience in cloud computing or five years of experience in enterprise IT.
- You may have three to five years of experience in programming or systems analysis using agile frameworks
- DevOps, CKA, AWS or HashiCorp Terraform certification is preferred
