We aim to be where the growth is, enabling businesses to thrive and economies to prosper, and, ultimately, helping people to fulfil their hopes and realize their ambitions.
We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of Senior Consultant Specialist
In This Role, You Will
- Lead infrastructure and platform setup, CI/CD capability, and release pipeline standardization for Secured Lending applications across non-production and production.
- Own end-to-end environment health and readiness (DEV/SIT/UAT/pre-prod/prod), including availability, refresh routines, access management, configuration/data alignment, and “release-ready” criteria.
- Design, implement, and maintain CI pipelines and reusable pipeline frameworks using GitHub/GitOps and Jenkins (including Groovy-based shared libraries where applicable).
- Own artefact management and dependency controls via Nexus, ensuring repository hygiene, governance, retention, access controls, and audit-aligned promotion patterns.
- Coordinate cross-squad changes impacting environments and pipelines (e.g., upgrades, credential/certificate rotations, onboarding), avoiding release train disruption.
- Own AWS hosting components and operational maintenance across services such as RDS, WAF, VPC, ALB/NLB, ensuring secure, resilient, performant, and cost-aware operation.
- Provision and maintain infrastructure using Terraform with disciplined engineering practices (modularisation, versioning, remote state/backends, peer review, parity and drift management).
- Support application deployments and configuration management, including Kubernetes deployments where relevant (Helm, config patterns, rollout/rollback strategies), working with platform teams on prerequisites.
- Lead production readiness and cutover support, ensuring implementation plans, rollback steps, controls, and evidence are complete and audit-ready.
- Drive release and change governance through ServiceNow (change records, approvals, CAB readiness, comms, PIR evidence) and improve operational excellence via monitoring/alerting, incident support, RCA, and preventative fixes.
To be successful in this role, you should meet the following requirements:
- 8–10 years’ experience with senior CI/CD engineering expertise, building and maintaining pipelines at scale using Jenkins and GitHub-based workflows (GitLab acceptable where relevant).
- Strong application build standards knowledge (e.g., Maven/Gradle/npm as applicable), semantic versioning, reproducible builds, and implementing quality/security gates.
- Kubernetes delivery enablement experience: Docker, Helm, deployment troubleshooting, rollout strategies, and configuration patterns (without needing full cluster ownership).
- Proven environment management experience across multiple environments (refreshes, access controls, stability, readiness governance).
- Hands-on AWS experience with RDS, WAF, VPC, ALB/NLB, plus IAM/security fundamentals and operational support.
- Strong Terraform capability: modules, remote state/backends, promotion patterns, code review discipline, and repeatable provisioning.
- Hands-on Release/Change/ITIL ownership via ServiceNow, including release coordination, audit-ready evidence, and robust rollback planning.
- Strong automation and operations mindset with Bash and/or Python, plus observability experience (CloudWatch and tools such as AppDynamics/Splunk/ELK/OpenSearch), and confidence working across squads, platform, security, and operations in a shared-responsibility model.
You’ll achieve more when you join HSBC.
