Cloud Platform Engineer
Location - Plano, Texas (hybrid)
Required Experience
- 6+ years of experience working in enterprise-scale cloud environments, building and supporting IaaS and PaaS solutions.
- Heavy hands-on Azure experience with strong overall cloud expertise; Azure should be the candidate’s primary cloud platform.
- 4+ years of hands-on Terraform experience for infrastructure provisioning and Infrastructure as Code.
- Strong Python development/scripting experience for automation and cloud platform engineering.
- Experience with Azure data-related services, including analytics platforms, data services, or related cloud products.
- Experience working in an Agile development environment.
Responsibilities
- Design, build, enhance, and support enterprise-scale cloud platforms and IaaS/PaaS solutions.
- Develop and automate cloud infrastructure using Terraform and Python.
- Work extensively with Azure cloud services to deliver scalable, secure, and reliable platform capabilities.
- Support cloud analytics, data products, and platform services, partnering with application and data teams as needed.
- Participate in cloud implementations, enhancements, upgrades, migrations, and platform modernization initiatives.
- Collaborate within an Agile team to deliver cloud platform capabilities and continuous improvements.
- Help establish and maintain scalable platform patterns, standards, and automation across the enterprise.
Preferred / Nice-to-Have Experience
- Prior experience working specifically on a cloud platform engineering team.
- Cloud security experience, including security controls, access management, and environment segregation.
- Strong cloud networking experience, including connectivity and network architecture within Azure.
- Experience designing platforms with security, scalability, and enterprise governance requirements in mind.
