Blue Chip Talent, in partnership with a public-sector technology organization, is seeking a skilled Cloud Engineer. This role is responsible for building and supporting AWS infrastructure, automating cloud environments through infrastructure as code, and managing cloud networking and connectivity. The engineer will also support observability, troubleshooting, and security across hybrid cloud environments.
Job Duties:
- Build, configure, manage, and support infrastructure within AWS
- Develop and maintain infrastructure as code for cloud resource provisioning and management
- Automate infrastructure deployments, configuration, and ongoing cloud operations
- Manage AWS networking, DNS, routing, route tables, certificates, and hybrid network connectivity
- Troubleshoot cloud infrastructure, networking, connectivity, automation, and performance issues
- Implement and maintain cloud monitoring and observability solutions
- Develop scripts and automation for infrastructure and operational tasks
- Configure IAM, security groups, and other AWS cloud security controls
Required
- 5+ years of experience in cloud, infrastructure, network, systems engineering, or a related technical discipline
- Hands-on AWS cloud infrastructure engineering and operations experience
- Infrastructure as code experience with Terraform, AWS CloudFormation, or comparable technology
- Hands-on Terraform experience
- Strong networking expertise with DNS, routing, network connectivity, route tables, and cloud networking concepts
- Experience supporting connectivity between on-premises/local network environments and AWS
- Scripting and automation experience with Bash, Python, PowerShell, or comparable scripting languages
- Experience with cloud monitoring and observability technologies
- Working knowledge of AWS IAM, security groups, and cloud security fundamentals
Desired
- Bash and/or Python scripting experience
- AWS CloudWatch and Grafana experience
- Experience supporting AWS services including EC2, ECS, Lambda, and RDS
- Experience with hybrid infrastructure environments connecting on-premises systems to AWS
- Experience with containers and container orchestration technologies
- Knowledge of serverless architectures, Kubernetes, and content delivery networks
- Experience evaluating appropriate cloud architecture patterns across serverless, containerized, and traditional infrastructure
