They are an established, national, multi-site enterprise consumer products company with a large, complex IT environment and a strong history of investing in its technology teams.
They're looking for a hands-on Senior Cloud & Platform Engineer to help drive a major infrastructure modernization initiative while supporting their growing cloud footprint across Microsoft Azure and AWS.
The company is migrating its on-premises VMware environment into Azure while maintaining AWS as a core platform for its application development and engineering teams. This creates an interesting mix of traditional enterprise infrastructure, modern cloud technologies, and automation.
This is a highly technical, hands-on role with the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on how the company's cloud infrastructure is built, managed, and improved.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and execute the migration of enterprise VMware and on-premises infrastructure into Microsoft Azure.
- Engineer, administer, and optimize infrastructure across AWS and Azure.
- Administer and support AWS environments used for software development, applications, and ongoing business operations.
- Build and automate infrastructure using Terraform or similar Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools.
- Manage AWS services including EC2, S3, IAM, and related cloud infrastructure.
- Improve cloud provisioning, deployment, monitoring, and operational processes.
- Collaborate with application development, infrastructure, and security teams on cloud platform initiatives.
- Optimize, monitor, administer, and support VMware, Windows Server, compute, storage, and hybrid cloud environments & identify opportunities to improve reliability, scalability, and automation.
Required Experience:
- Strong hands-on engineering experience with both Microsoft Azure and AWS.
- Proven experience with enterprise on-premises or VMware-to-Azure migrations.
- Solid AWS infrastructure experience, including EC2, S3, IAM, and supporting application environments.
- Practical experience with Terraform or comparable Infrastructure as Code tools.
- Experience with scripting, automation, and modern infrastructure deployment practices.
- Strong VMware, virtualization, Windows Server, and enterprise infrastructure fundamentals.
- Familiarity with Git, CI/CD pipelines, and infrastructure supporting software development environments.
- Experience working across hybrid or multi-cloud environments.
- Strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to independently own technical initiatives.
Pay range:
$140,000 – $170,000 annually (paid hourly)
