The AWS Cloud Architect Consultant will play a crucial role in managing, optimizing, and securing our cloud infrastructure and resources. They will ensure effective systems integration, deployment, configuration, testing. Leveraging in-depth knowledge of AWS services, CI/CD practices, containerization, and scripting.
The AWS Cloud Architect will ensure the robustness, security, and efficiency of cloud infrastructure, contributing to the seamless operation and growth of our client's complex financial systems platform and technology landscape. They will drive the development and implementation of best practices in cloud management and security, supporting our mission to deliver outstanding services and solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
AWS Resources Management: Oversee the lifecycle of AWS resources, including patching, upgrading, and creation of new infrastructure elements. Remediate policy violations, manage resource cleanup and archival. Adherence to AWS resource policies and best practices is crucial, including disaster recovery, backups, and monitoring/alerts setup.
Deployment and Support: Develop and manage CI/CD pipelines using YAML for streamlined deployments. Handle support requests, including deployments, access grants, and other AWS-related tasks, ensuring high levels of operational excellence and security.
Standards and Documentation: Establish and maintain monitoring standards aligned with IT policies, and document system infrastructure comprehensively. This includes maintaining sensors and monitors and aggregating and creating documentation to support system integrity and knowledge sharing.
System Security: Proactively address system vulnerabilities through tools like Dependabot, audit system access, and respond to security requests. The role involves both
Required Experience, Skills and Technology Qualifications
Kubernetes
– Developed and implemented Kubernetes/AKS, ECS, Docker and containerized solution architectures with advanced engineering concepts around security, segmentation, vulnerability and image scanning, and integration with third-party tools like Sysdig Falco, Calico, Service Mesh etc.
AWS Cloud Infrastructure and Security
– Experience managing full application stacks from the OS up through custom applications
· Knowledge of AWS and Cloud Computing concepts (preferred experience with AWS Landing Zones.
· Linux (Ubuntu, CentOS, RedHat)
· Understanding of IP Networking (TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP, SSL/TLS, etc.)
· One or more container orchestration management experience (e.g. Docker, OpenShift Kubernetes)
· Troubleshooting skills at multiple levels of complexity.
CI/CD Enablement
– Experience with one or more DevOps, Orchestration/Configuration Management and Continuous Integration technology (e.g. Chef, Puppet, Jenkins, Ansible)
· Programming experience with one or more scripting language (e.g. Bash, PowerShell, Ruby, Python, Node.JS)
· One or more version control platform (e.g. Git, Perforce, SVN, TFVC)
Program Management
- Lead and oversee the Cloud build out of our financial systems organization.
- Utilize Agile program management principles to guide a highly technical team solve cutting edge challenges in the AWS Cloud.
- Manage offshore developers.
- Leverage your prior experience in an engineering organization (hardware and/or cloud technologies) to be equipped and best engage with Engineering and PM counterparts on technical matters.
- Implementing process improvements and demonstrated an ability to manage strategic projects
- Perform other tasks as assigned.
Salary Range: 140,000 - 160,000 annually depending on experience.
