Flint Hills Resources (FHR) is seeking a
Cloud Engineer to join our Cloud Infrastructure and Security team. In this critical role, you will drive the vision of enabling FHR to utilize cloud technologies that are easily consumable, cost-efficient, reliable, and secure, thereby supporting digital transformation initiatives. You will be responsible for cloud security operations, cloud infrastructure operations, cloud finance operations (finops).
This position is based at our headquarters in
Wichita, KS, and offers the opportunity to work with cutting-edge cloud technologies in a dynamic and collaborative environment.
What You Will Do
- Cloud Security Operations
- Security Vulnerability Discovery and Remediation: Responsible for using cloud security tools to identify, analyze, prioritize, report, and create plans to mitigate cloud security risks in coordination with FHR’s product teams.
- Workload Protection Services: Deploy and manage WAF rules, monitor traffic, and contribute to security incident response.
- Remote Access Solutions: Design and implement solutions for cloud administration using Zscaler ZPA and AWS Client VPN.
- Cloud Infrastructure Operations
- Cloud Infrastructure: Troubleshoot cloud infrastructure issues, enforce tagging policies, and resolve connectivity, capacity, and performance problems.
- IAM Management Services: Develop and monitor roles and policies using least privilege principles, and manage them via Terraform and GitLab.
- EC2 Management: Automate server creation, address EC2 and EBS issues, and ensure hybrid cloud success.
- Cloud Service Management: Evaluate cloud services for security and viability to meet customer’s outcomes, . Implement standards for new services.
- Application Cloud Infrastructure: Coordinates with software engineers and software architects to design and create solutions for applications in the cloud.
- Cloud Financial Operations
- Operate the finops program to ensure cost efficiency. Analyze trends, coordinate with software engineers for remediations, creation automation, and provide cost analysis and reporting to Product Managers.
Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)
- Experience managing cloud security risks
- Experience managing and creating AWS IAM policies
- Experience deploying and managing cloud infrastructure
- Experience with AWS network architecture and security configurations
- Experience in leading and organizing projects, demonstrating strong communication and organizational abilities to drive successful outcomes
What Will Put You Ahead
- AWS Certifications (AWS Solutions Architect, AWS Certified Security – Specialty)
- Experience with scripting solutions in Python
- Experience with scripting solutions in Powershell
- Experience with Github or Gitlab
- Experience with Terraform
- Experience troubleshooting AWS serverless technologies
- Experience with cloud penetration testing
- Experience with AWS organizations and control tower
