Position: Senior Cloud Platform Engineer
Location: Hybrid, Charlotte, NC
Rate: 55-65 on w-2 (no C2C or third party candidates will be accepted on this role.)

Overview:
We are looking for a specialized AWS IAM professional to join our cloud engineering team. This role is ideal for a strategic thinker and skilled practitioner in AWS IAM policy development, Terraform, and Python. The Senior Cloud Platform Engineer will lead the design and implementation of cloud infrastructure solutions to improve business capabilities, focusing on secure, compliant, and scalable public cloud services.
Top Skills Required:
- AWS Certified Solutions Architect Professional – mandatory
- Terraform – proficiency with certification preferred
- Service Control Policy Expertise – advanced AWS IAM policy development and service control policy enforcement
- Python with boto3 library – hands-on experience required
- Strong communication skills, proactive, team-oriented, and capable of managing complex projects
Responsibilities:
- Design and develop cloud services, APIs, and serverless applications using Terraform to align with architectural standards.
- Enhance Cloud Platform security with custom preventative and responsive controls.
- Lead scalable, complex problem-solving initiatives with new features and tools.
- Collaborate within Agile processes to size stories, conduct research, and suggest new cloud solutions.
- Implement monitoring tools and metrics for enhanced visibility, reliability, and service performance.
- Document and maintain cloud infrastructure deployment patterns, policies, and best practices.
- Actively contribute to a collaborative team environment, ensuring the success of cross-functional teams and customer satisfaction.
Preferred Certifications:
- AWS Certified Solutions Architect Professional
- AWS Certified DevOps Engineer or similar certifications
Key Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience
- Proficiency in Terraform for cloud infrastructure management
- Expert knowledge in AWS architecture and IAM policy development for secure role provisioning
- Skilled in CI/CD practices and tools, especially GitLab
- Strong understanding of the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC)
- Exceptional documentation skills (e.g., data models, process diagrams, designs)
