Exxat is a US-headquartered company that builds an integrated, cloud-based, education management platform for Health Sciences. We are looking for a Senior DevOps Engineer to design and operate our cloud environment and associated processes.
Role Summary:
As a DevOps Engineer at Exxat, you will play a crucial role in designing, implementing, and maintaining our cloud infrastructure. You will focus on achieving high reliability, performance, and scalability across our platforms while streamlining delivery processes to drive business success. This position requires collaboration with cross-functional teams, technical leadership in infrastructure management, and a proactive approach to automation and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
- Technical Strategy & Design
- Translate Exxat’s technology requirements and vision into effective, scalable cloud infrastructure.
- Design and implement infrastructure solutions that prioritize high availability, reliability, and cost optimization.
- Cloud Infrastructure & Operations
- Drive automation, monitoring, and incident management for efficient operations.
- Implement CI/CD pipelines and streamline the development lifecycle with continuous integration and deployment best practices.
- Monitoring & Reliability Engineering
- Set up and manage robust logging, monitoring, and alerting systems to ensure high performance and availability of services.
- Conduct incident management, root cause analyses (RCAs), and preventive actions to minimize downtime.
- Infrastructure as Code & Configuration Management
- Employ Infrastructure as Code (IaC) principles, with a preference for Terraform, to manage infrastructure consistently and effectively.
- Leverage configuration management tools to maintain version control and ensure consistency.
- Security & Compliance
- Ensure infrastructure security practices align with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
- Contribute to business continuity planning, including backup, disaster recovery, and failover processes.
- Collaboration & Documentation
- Work closely with developers, product teams, and stakeholders to understand and fulfill infrastructure and CI/CD requirements.
- Maintain thorough documentation of infrastructure, processes, and solutions for knowledge sharing and continuity.
Qualifications:
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related technical field
- 3+ years of experience in a DevOps or cloud infrastructure role, with demonstrated knowledge of modern software engineering and distributed computing.
Technical Skills
- Proficiency in at least one major cloud platform (Azure preferred).
- Experience with Kubernetes, Istio, Helm charts, Kubernetes Operators, Argo CD, and Linux.
- Strong skills in scripting and microservices operations.
- Hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code, with a preference for Terraform.
Operational Expertise
- Expertise in application and infrastructure monitoring tools.
- Familiarity with incident management practices, root cause analyses, and automation.
