AWS Cloud Engineer
We are seeking a highly skilled AWS Cloud Engineer with expertise in monitoring solutions and a strong understanding of AWS Landing Zone architecture. The ideal candidate will play a critical role in designing, implementing, and managing monitoring systems within our AWS environment, ensuring optimal performance, availability, and security across our cloud infrastructure. This role requires deep knowledge of AWS services, particularly in the context of monitoring and observability, along with the ability to integrate monitoring solutions with AWS Landing Zone configurations.
Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and maintain comprehensive monitoring solutions for our AWS environment, including infrastructure, applications, and services.
- Develop custom metrics, alarms, and dashboards using AWS CloudWatch and other monitoring tools to provide real-time visibility into system performance and health.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define monitoring requirements and implement best practices for alerting, logging, and troubleshooting.
- Ensure compliance with security and governance policies by configuring monitoring systems to monitor and report on security-related events and anomalies.
- Continuously optimize monitoring configurations to improve performance, reliability, and cost-efficiency of AWS resources.
- Provide expertise in AWS Landing Zone architecture, ensuring that monitoring solutions are aligned with Landing Zone best practices and guidelines.
- Troubleshoot and resolve monitoring-related issues, working closely with internal teams and AWS support as needed.
- Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies and industry trends related to cloud monitoring and observability, recommending and implementing new tools and practices as appropriate.
- Document monitoring configurations, processes, and best practices, and provide training and support to other team members as needed.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
- AWS certification (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect, AWS Certified DevOps Engineer, AWS Certified SysOps Administrator) preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in cloud engineering or related roles, with a focus on AWS.
- Proven experience designing, implementing, and managing monitoring solutions for AWS environments using tools such as CloudWatch, CloudTrail, and AWS Config.
- Strong understanding of AWS Landing Zone architecture and best practices, with the ability to design and implement monitoring solutions that align with Landing Zone requirements.
- Proficiency in scripting and automation using Python, Shell, or other relevant languages.
- Experience with containerized environments
- Solid understanding of networking concepts, including TCP/IP, DNS, routing, and firewalls.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot complex issues in distributed systems.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams.
