Job Summary
You will become part of the product chapter of an Agile tribe working on CIB Credit Transformation programme; your primary area of focus will be the Advanced Analytics workstream. Credit Transformation is a key strategic agenda for CIB to uplift the core credit platform, drive end-to-end digitization and deliver a fully digitized, data driven Credit Origination model, leveraging internal & external data, and machine learning capabilities.
We are a business-first team with diverse skillset across coverage, risk, product management and technology, who work with frontline and Credit SMEs to find AI and analytics driven solutions to business problems and are ably supported by BAs, ML engineers, developers, MLOps and QA testers from our squads.
The Advanced Analytics workstream is a big part of this agenda, and works to leverage Machine Learning, NLP and visual analytics to deliver products that drive better business outcomes. Some work products delivered by the workstream include Early warning system to identify stress on corporate entities using SOTA ML algorithms and a multi-platform Decision Insights ML product (E2E incl. data ingestion, transformation, prediction, presentation).
Upcoming work involves improving and evolving the Decision Insights model, using power of LLMs to enhance and automate the Credit processes; Adverse media screening and text abstraction/summarization for analyst reports, news articles and qualitative credit application writeups. Creating Intelligent assistant for Credit frontline staff using Gen AI models.
Key Responsibilities
Working with the product manager, BAs and SMEs, you will take new ideas from the pipeline, develop POC solution and then take them to production-ready solutions. You will serve as an SME in Advanced Analytics and be hands-on in ideating, developing, evaluating, and deploying ML solutions (feature engineering, model development, evaluation, deployment, documentation, monitoring) to a live serving env.
We are looking to hire both senior and junior candidates for this role; the requirements will be similar, with more extensive experience and leadership/mentoring skills being additionally important for the senior role.
- Ideate->Build->Implement->Evolve advance AI and analytics products with relevant stakeholders, including Product Manager, BA, SMEs, Data Engineers, MLEs, MLOps
- Create ML powered solutions (including Gen AI) that have business outcomes like reduced TAT, Credit process efficiencies, reduced LI for the bank through early warnings on portfolio credit health and better visibility of client profile by understanding their transactional flows and business patterns.
- Work with UX team and product managers to convert ML results to actionable outcomes. Be able to create simple dashboards for POCs.
- Develop and implement processes and solutions for model technical and functional performance monitoring, concept and data (covariate, prior probability) drift detection, user feedback-driven model improvements.
- Be responsible for ensuring adherence of solutions to Responsible AI standards. This includes representing the solution at RAI council, providing any clarifications to local compliance teams, and enabling auditability and replayability of results.
- Design, develop, and implement generative AI models and algorithms, utilizing state-of-the-art techniques such as GPTs, LLaMA, and GANs in industrial settings.
- Assess the effectiveness and accuracy of data sources and data gathering techniques.
- Identify alternate data sources (vendors and open source) with the product manager; work with data org. to onboard and integrate.
- Present proposals and results in a clear manner backed by data and coupled with actionable conclusions.
- Attend various forums as a representative of the Advanced Analytics workstream within CCIB Credit Transformation and be able to confidently and authoritatively present and discuss solutions implemented.

Skills And Experience
- Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning
- Understands the concepts and applications of Machine Learning (ML) in the Bank’s and/or clients’ business.
- Develops, evaluation, implements and/or applies Machine Learning solutions for the continuous improvement and innovation of the Bank’s and/or clients’ processes, products, and business. Can perform data transformation, feature engineering, picking the right method to evaluate model performance (eg.. RMSE, log loss, accuracy, AU-ROC, P/R), and threshold selection based on desired outcome (eg. Sensitivity vs specificity).
- Understands Responsible AI usage guidelines issues by MAS/HKMA/ECB and ensures models built are compliant (fairness, transparency, explainability, data suitability, accountability)
- Programming
- Proficient and hands-on on SQL, Python and PySpark; working knowledge of HiveQL, SparkML and ML libraries like TensorFlow, PyTorch, NLTK, spaCy, etc..
- Good understanding of deep learning and NLP architectures and applicability in Banking domain
- Develop, implement, and optimize large language models and Generative AI technologies, including training/finetuning and computation optimizations.
- Experience working with both open source as well as vendor platforms like Databricks, Alteryx, SageMaker, AzureML, Dataiku
- Able to create simple interactive dashboard/UI to present model’s output during POC phase
- Statistical Analysis
- Applies systematic statistical, mathematical, and numerical analyses to interpret complex data sets to derive data-driven measurements and predictions of trends / risks
- Data Analysis and Visualisation
- Scopes and shapes business problems into feasible and specific data analysis problem statements. Interprets data according to defined requirements to obtain business insights, including the use of statistical and predictive modelling techniques and practices for analysis Communicates data findings and insights through data storytelling to key stakeholders through dynamic visual display of data (i.e., visual illustrations, iconographies, graphs, charts)
- NLP/LLM/Gen AI
- Develop, implement, and optimize large language models and Generative AI technologies, including training/finetuning and computation optimizations
- Knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure) is a plus

- Preferably from large multinational banks with mature Data Science/Advanced Analytics functions that have live, serving models that are delivering quantifiable business value, and within wholesale/corporate banking. Candidates from retail banking or other BFSI/insurance firms or fintech will also be considered.
- Note: Candidates who have worked in “lab” setups on small POCs with manually wrangled data and without the devops rigour are not what we are looking for.
- Worked on at least 4 E2E ML model implementations in production (live serving applications) as lead or team member (use case to POC to production deployment to BAU handover and model maintenance) with very large datasets and direct business value add.
