We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled DevOps Manager to lead and enhance our DevOps practices. The ideal candidate will be responsible for driving automation, continuous integration, and continuous delivery processes to ensure the efficiency and reliability of our software development and deployment pipeline.
DevOps Strategy
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Develop and implement an overarching DevOps strategy to streamline software development, branching strategy, testing, deployment, and operations processes.
Team Leadership
- Lead and mentor a team of DevOps engineers, fostering a collaborative and innovative environment.
Automation And Tooling
- Drive the implementation of automation tools and processes to improve efficiency and reliability across the development lifecycle.
Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD)
- Oversee the design, implementation, and management of CI/CD pipelines to ensure rapid and reliable delivery of software releases.
Agile Methodology Integration
- Integrate DevOps principles into Agile development methodologies, ensuring alignment with iterative and collaborative development practices.
Monitoring And Performance Optimization
- Establish and maintain monitoring and alerting systems to ensure the health and performance of applications and infrastructure.
Security And Compliance
- Collaborate with security teams to integrate security practices into the DevOps lifecycle, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.
Collaboration With Development And Operations
- Foster collaboration between development and operations teams to enhance communication and ensure smooth handovers in the software delivery process.
Capacity Planning
- Conduct capacity planning and resource optimization to ensure the scalability and efficiency of infrastructure.
Incident Response
- Develop and maintain incident response plans, participating in troubleshooting and resolution efforts during system outages or incidents.
Education And Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field. Proven experience as a DevOps Engineer or similar role.
- Overall experience of 12 years in SDLC
- At least 7 years of Devops experience
- 1+ years’ experience in leading scrum teams, preferred.
- 2+ years’ experience in Automation
- Experience leading technology direction preferred.
Technical Proficiency
Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities
- Knowledge on scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash), experience with configuration management tools and knowledge of containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
- Experience with infrastructure-as-a-service platforms (Terraform)
CI/CD Tools
- Experience with CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI) and version control systems (e.g., Git).
Cloud Platforms
- Proficiency in cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure.
Security Knowledge
- Familiarity with security principles and best practices in a DevOps environment.
Communication Skills
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams.
Leadership Abilities
- Proven leadership experience with the ability to motivate and guide team members.
Problem-Solving Skills
- Excellent problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to identifying and addressing issues.
Work Environment/Physical Demands
- While at work, this position is primarily a sedentary job and requires that the associate can work in an environment where they will consistently be seated for the majority of the workday
- This role requires that one can sit and regularly type on a keyboard the majority of their workday
- This position requires the ability to observe a computer screen for long periods of time to observe their own and others’ work, as well as incoming and outgoing communications via the computer and/ or mobile devices.
- The role necessitates the ability to listen and speak clearly to customers and other associates
- The work environment is an open room with other associates and noise from others will be part of the regular workday
