POSITION OVERVIEW
Cloud Engineering Lead – Hands-On Role (Individual Contributor)
Are you passionate about building and optimizing cloud infrastructure? Do you enjoy rolling up your sleeves, working directly with cutting-edge technology, and collaborating with third-party vendors? Numisma Bank is seeking a dynamic Cloud Engineering Lead to design, implement, and manage our Azure-based cloud infrastructure. This is a hands-on, individual contributor role that offers the opportunity to make a significant impact without the responsibilities of managing a team.
You'll report directly to the Chief Technology Officer, working closely with development teams, IT operations, and business leaders to ensure our cloud services are scalable and aligned with the bank’s goals.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Cloud Infrastructure Design & Management
- Design, implement, and manage scalable, and high-performance cloud infrastructure on the Azure platform.
- Collaborate with vendors to integrate third-party solutions seamlessly into our cloud environment.
- Optimize cloud infrastructure for performance, cost efficiency, and reliability.
- Develop and maintain deployment strategies aligned with business needs and compliance requirements.
Hands-On Technical Work
- Engage directly in technical tasks: infrastructure setup and automation scripting.
- Provide technical expertise to development and operations teams, ensuring best practices in cloud engineering.
- Lead the management and support of end-user devices.
Automation & DevOps Integration
- Design and manage cloud-native technology solutions, especially for SaaS integrations.
- Automate infrastructure processes to improve efficiency and reduce manual tasks.
- Embed best practices into CI/CD pipelines to maintain robust development lifecycles.
Continuous Improvement
- Stay current with emerging cloud technologies and industry trends.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance the bank’s cloud infrastructure.
- Foster a proactive approach to technical excellence.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
- 10+ years of hands-on experience in cloud engineering, preferably within financial services or fintech.
- Strong expertise in Azure cloud services and cloud infrastructure management.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., Azure Solutions Architect) are highly desirable.
- Proficiency in scripting and automation tools (e.g., PowerShell, Python).
- Experience with containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
- Proven ability to work independently, managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams.

GEOGRAPHICAL LOCATION
Numisma Bank is headquartered in Greenwich, Connecticut and is commutable via car and mass transit from the tristate area. The bank’s team works on a hybrid schedule with 3 days in office and 2 remote days per week.
