Title: AWS DevOps Engineer
Location: Austin, TX (Once a week)
Duration: Long Term - Ongoing project.
This DevOps engineer will also provides environment triage support. This responsibility includes both workday and night/weekend on-call support for all development, test, training, and production environments. This service helps maintain high availability for developers, testers, trainers, and production end users.
This position works under minimal direction with considerable latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Develop, monitor and optimize Batch Jobs and Operations.
- Analyzes the technology currently being used and develops plans and processes for improvement and expansion.
- Implements and enhances an advanced CI/CD solution. Develops, codes, tests, builds, installs, configures, and maintains IT solutions.
- Analyzes processes, and deployments and proposes improvements to streamline code deployments and minimize errors.
- Uses configuration management software to automatically deploy updates and fixes into the various production & non-production environments.
- Documents processes and procedures.
- Support Production and Non Production related activities and issues.
- Support releases and sprint related activities.
- Provide enterprise level solutions for existing automation in place while developing new solutions.
- Develop proposal plan for approval.
II. CANDIDATE SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

Required
- Experience in cloud engineering with at least 5 years focused on core AWS services
- Experience automating deployments using CI/CD pipelines with GitHub Actions, Jenkins, ansible and similar tools
- Experience with serverless architecture
- Designing and implementing high availability and fault tolerant systems
- Experience with monitoring tools, including cloudwatch, Prometheus, Grafana, and splunk
- Experience in containerization, proficient with ECS, EKS, and/or fargate
- Strong skills in Python, Bash, or other scripting/programming languages
- Strong problem solving and troubleshooting skills
- AWS certifications strongly preferred
- Ability to be adaptable and succeed in an environment where you may be given tasks that have clear goals but require you to find answers, understand the situation, and determine the steps and process to complete.
