Role Description
The Cloud Architect is responsible for aiding and supporting PS team by designing, positioning, selling and delivery of Public cloud transformation solutions as well as assisting in providing product/service, commercial overviews in the delivery of Digital & Cloud Experts solutions offerings.
The Cloud Architect needs to have a combined technical and consultative background with the focus on designing and positioning cloud solutions and other technologies and/or services through directly fronting customer, conference calls and other remote collaboration means. The Cloud Architect is a corner stone in supporting the development and answering solution designs and technical descriptions for RFI’s & RFP’s, drafting cost sheets and assists in closing deals.
Key responsibilities are as follows:
- Design public Cloud Architecture, ensuring that it meets the business requirements, security, and performance goals.
- Partner with Asia Pacific presales as required in qualifying opportunities, delivering demonstrations, and providing cloud consulting expertise.
- Provide design support of Cloud solutions for both new and existing customers (managed or integrated) including:
- Actively support responses to proposals, RFQ, RFP and RFI requirements
- Prepare high quality technical deliverables such as High-Level Design, Low Level Design, technical proposal, Bill of Materials etc.
- Prepare cost estimates for all infra and network security solutions
- Identify & remediate potential integration & drift issues
- Participate in solution demo & pilots to support onshore solution team
- Participate in architecture discussions to work through application, middleware, database and infrastructure transformation to cloud
- Apply technical knowledge and customer insights to create a modernization roadmap. Architect solutions to meet business and IT needs, ensuring technical viability of new projects and successful deployments, while orchestrating key resources and infusing key Infrastructure technologies (e.g. Windows and Linux IaaS, Cloud Native Security & Networking, etc.),
- Good understanding of DevOps technologies (e.g. App Service, containers, serverless, microservices, cloud native, etc.) as appropriate
- Interlock with nearshore and offshore teams to fully understand latest advancements, Managed Cloud operating models and value proposition
- Attend training sessions, both in-house, vendor specific and external to broaden and master your skillset into advanced and emerging areas of Cloud such as serverless, microservices, cloud security and governance
- An ideal candidate would be an ambitious and intuitive individual who can work under their own direction towards agreed targets/goals and with creative approach and managing time and change effectively.
Experience Required
- 8-10 years of /implementation/consulting experience with a proven track record in Cloud solutions including VMWare vSphere, Data Centre concepts, knowledge of Enterprise Storage (NetApp, EMC) and Server Technologies (HP, Dell,)
- Minimum 3-4 years of design and implementation experience with enterprise architecture and distributed applications with demonstrable experience of large-scale cloud Deployments within the last 1 year for production workload
- 2-3 years of Public Cloud Experience with AWS, Azure or Google Cloud Platform with a sound understanding of public cloud pricing model (AWS, Azure, GCP) and its impact on solution architecture
- Experience in designing or implementing on-premise to public cloud transformation roadmap for customers including lift & shift, re-hosting, re-factoring and re-platforming of applications
- Strong understanding of Cloud Architecture in both IaaS and PaaS environments including serverless technologies, functions, containers, Kubernetes. Experience in migrating to or architecting micro-services cloud solutions and/or containers or has building such green field “cloud native” applications
- Reasonable understanding of Enterprise Integration and Messaging Patterns, SOA ESB, EAI, ETL environments and Governance practices.
- Reasonable Knowledge of DevOps methods and CI/CD automation practices
- Experience in writing proposals and scopes, responding to tenders/RFQ/RFP/RFI
Ability to orchestrate, lead, and influence virtual teams, ensuring successful implementation of customer projects.

- Ability to work with minimal supervision in a matrix organization with multiple stakeholders
