We're currently partnering with an award-winning Fintech Firm looking to add a Senior AWS Cloud Engineer. The AWS Cloud Engineer is integral to ensuring the seamless operation and security of all platform environments. In this multifaceted role within the Cloud Architecture Team, the engineer will engage with key business stakeholders, collaborating closely with external teams and contributing to high-visibility initiatives.
Responsibilities:
- Serve as the lead architect for infrastructure, bringing expertise in designing secure, automated, and scalable AWS environments.
- Leverage a deep understanding of DevOps practices and cloud networking to advocate for and implement AWS best practices with a focus on security.
- Manage and optimize EKS clusters, along with various other services like API gateways, Transit Gateway, and additional edge and compute solutions.
- Assume an SRE role to troubleshoot performance bottlenecks and deployment challenges, while enhancing our monitoring capabilities.
- Develop and maintain internal self-service tools to streamline workflows for development teams.
Qualifications:
- Over 6 years of experience in DevOps or Site Reliability Engineering, with at least 4 years working within AWS environments.
- Proven expertise in managing microservices architectures using Docker and Kubernetes in live production settings.
- In-depth knowledge of Linux operating systems, command-line tools, scripting, and configuration management best practices.
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Python or Ruby is highly desirable.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to design and implement sophisticated, yet maintainable, automated infrastructure solutions.
- Strong passion for knowledge sharing, mentorship, and continuous learning within a collaborative team environment.
