DevOps Engineer
Location: Texas(Remote)
Pay rate: $110 K- $120K
Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled DevOps Engineer to join our enterprise financial services environment. In this role, you will collaborate with cloud, security, technology, and business professionals to design, implement, and automate deployments across AWS and private cloud infrastructures. You will take ownership of CI/CD pipelines, configuration management, and release automation, while ensuring security and scalability across development, QA, UAT, and production environments.
Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain engineering automation tools to scale applications into production.
- Develop and maintain scripts, tooling, and infrastructure automation for software releases.
- Implement CI/CD pipelines and ensure consistent, reliable deployments across DEV/QA/Prod.
- Automate zero-downtime deployments (Blue/Green, Canary, etc.) to improve release velocity.
- Collaborate with engineers and product teams in an Agile environment to troubleshoot, resolve issues, and improve processes.
- Document processes, create status reports, and communicate technical updates to stakeholders.
- Ensure end-to-end security, aligning with secure SDLC and best practices.
- Support both Windows and Linux environments in the cloud.
- Investigate, recommend, and implement enhancements to improve operational efficiency.
Required Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or related field.
- Experience: Minimum 5+ years of hands-on AWS experience and automating CI/CD pipelines.
- Certifications: AWS Certified Developer Associate and/or AWS SysOps Administrator Associate, plus AWS Solutions Architect Associate.
Core Skills:
- Strong expertise in AWS services: VPC, EC2, Route53, IAM, Lambda.
- Proficiency in coding with Node.js or .NET Core (C#).
- Strong scripting skills in Python, Bash, or PowerShell.
- Infrastructure-as-Code: Terraform, CloudFormation.
- Containerization (Docker, Kubernetes, etc.).
- Secure SDLC knowledge (OWASP Top 10, CWE/SANS).
- Solid Windows and Linux system administration in cloud environments.
- Networking fundamentals (DNS, NFS, TCP/IP).
- Experience with CI/CD pipeline administration and release engineering.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with additional cloud providers (Azure, Google Cloud).
- Exposure to virtualization platforms (VMware, Hyper-V, KVM).
- Experience with microservices or event-driven architectures.
- Database exposure (NoSQL: MongoDB, DynamoDB, Cassandra; RDBMS: MySQL, SQL Server, Aurora).
- Knowledge of QA/test methodologies.
Experience with automated zero-downtime deployment strategies.
