Our client is looking for a Cloud Engineer. They are focused on creating a Brokerage Recordkeeping Platform in a public cloud environment. This initiative is crucial for the company's future success and growth. The goal is to develop capabilities for intraday recordkeeping within a cloud environment in the short to mid-term. This role involves designing, developing, and maintaining modern, highly available, and scalable interfaces for the next-generation platform.

Rate: $53 - $58 / hr. w2
Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable interfaces for the next-generation platform.
- Share technical knowledge to strengthen the engineering community.
- Pursue continuous learning of new technologies and platforms.
- Work on developing and maintaining APIs and backend systems.
- Assist in transitioning systems from mainframe to cloud environments.
Requirements:
Required:
- 8+ years of hands-on software/cloud development and engineering experience.
- 5+ years of experience in complex architectural designs and technology initiatives.
- 5+ years of experience in an agile development environment (Scrum/Kanban).
- 5+ years of experience in Test Driven Development.
- Experience with REST API development using NodeJS and Java.
- Experience with event-driven application design and development using Kafka.
- Database development experience using PL/SQL for Oracle.
- Experience with API Gateway publishing using APIGEE/Stratum.
- Familiarity with production support operations tools like Splunk, Datadog, or Kibana.
Nice to Have:
- Experience with application development on public cloud platforms such as AWS (Serverless, EKS, Step Functions, Lambda, S3, Dynamo).
- Experience with DevOps CI/CD tools like Jenkins, uDeploy, Concourse, and Terraform.
- Data modeling skills and experience implementing data processing pipelines.
- Experience with containerization technology like Docker.
- Background in ETL and understanding of operational data stores.
- Understanding of end-to-end topology, including application, network, and infrastructure components.
- Mainframe experience and COBOL understanding.
- Experience developing/implementing automated test cases using BDD, TDD testing frameworks (JEST, Cucumber, Selenium).
- Financial industry background is a plus.
