We are seeking an
Azure DevOps Architect (Boards & Reporting) to design, implement, and optimize
Azure DevOps Boards and reporting solutions for large-scale Agile organizations. The role combines
technical expertise in ADO administration, reporting, and Power BI with
strong Agile process coaching to enable enterprise-wide adoption of Agile, Scrum, and Kanban practices. As an Architect, you will own the
governance, scalability, and standardization of ADO Boards across multiple teams and programs, ensuring alignment with business objectives while providing actionable insights through advanced reporting and analytics.
Key Responsibilities
Architecture & Governance
- Define and implement ADO Boards architecture for enterprise-wide use (work item hierarchy, processes, templates, workflows).
- Establish governance models, standards, and best practices for consistent board usage across teams and portfolios.
- Ensure scalability and maintainability of ADO Board configurations for multi-team Agile programs.
Reporting & Analytics
- Design and implement custom reports and dashboards using ADO Analytics, OData feeds, and Power BI.
- Deliver real-time insights into team performance, velocity, cycle time, burndown, dependencies, and risks.
- Partner with leadership to define KPIs and metrics aligned with business goals.
Agile Process Enablement
- Act as an Agile Coach, guiding teams in effective adoption of Scrum, Kanban, and SAFe practices within ADO.
- Provide training, workshops, and coaching on ADO usage for Product Owners, Scrum Masters, and Delivery Managers.
- Drive continuous improvement in agile maturity using ADO reporting and metrics.
Collaboration & Integration
- Partner with Program Managers, Engineering Leaders, and Business Stakeholders to align delivery tracking with strategy.
- Integrate ADO Boards with other tools (Jira, ServiceNow, Confluence, CI/CD pipelines).
- Provide technical leadership and mentoring to ADO admins, analysts, and agile teams.
Mandatory Skills
- Strong expertise in Azure DevOps (Boards, Queries, Dashboards, Permissions, Work Item Management).
- Architect-level knowledge of ADO Boards setup and governance for large enterprises.
- Advanced Power BI reporting and dashboard development with ADO data sources.
- Deep understanding of Agile, Scrum, Kanban, and SAFe methodologies.
- Proven Agile coaching experience with cross-functional teams.
- Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and training skills.
Preferred / Nice-to-Have Skills
- Experience with ADO Analytics & OData queries.
- Exposure to CI/CD and DevOps pipelines in ADO.
- Familiarity with Portfolio/Program-level Agile frameworks (e.g., SAFe, LeSS).
- Knowledge of tool integrations (Jira, ServiceNow, Confluence, GitHub).
