Job Title: Engineering Manager (Hands-on with Technology & Coding)
Location: Mumbai Andheri West
Requirement summary
15 - 20 years of experience and based in Mumbai/Pune, willing for WFO/ Hybrid work
Exp with Investment Banking, Capital Market, and Hedge Fund
hands-on in technologies like Python, Gen AI, DevOps, Java/ .net, Client-facing
and good domain knowledge of the Middle Office operations of Hedge funds and Investment banks
Experience in Trade Life cycle, Trade operations, Fund accounting, etc
Good comm skills, client-facing and Leadership qualities
Attitude: willing to join a start-up, hands-on technical delivery, and going the extra mile
Job Summary:
Engineering Manager who combines strong leadership capabilities with deep technical expertise.
a hands-on leader, someone who can both guide a team of talented engineers and actively contribute to design, architecture, and coding when needed.
You will play a key role in scaling our engineering capabilities, improving software quality, and delivering impactful products.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead, mentor, and grow a team of software engineers through effective coaching and performance management.
- Remain hands-on with code actively participate in design discussions, code reviews, and critical development efforts
- Drive technical excellence, setting engineering best practices, design patterns, and quality standards.
- Collaborate with Product, Design, and other stakeholders to define project requirements and delivery timelines.
- Own technical architecture decisions, ensuring scalability, reliability, and maintainability.
- Champion an agile development process, improving velocity and team collaboration.
- Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks, architectural issues, and codebase inefficiencies.
- Foster a culture of ownership, accountability, continuous learning, and innovation.
Requirements: Technical Skills:
- Proven experience as a senior software engineer, tech lead, or engineering manager with hands-on coding in [Insert tech stack: e.g., JavaScript/TypeScript, Python, Java, Go, Node.js, etc.].
- Strong understanding of system architecture, design patterns, CI/CD, and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
- Familiar with microservices, APIs, containerization (Docker, Kubernetes), and modern DevOps practices.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, startup-like environment.
Leadership Skills:
- Experience in engineering management or team leadership roles.
- Ability to recruit, mentor, and retain top engineering talent.
- Excellent communication skills and stakeholder management.
