The Role
We’re looking for a highly experienced DevOps Engineer with a strong background in
Java backend development to join our core engineering team. You’ll be responsible for
architecting, deploying, and optimizing our multi-cloud DevOps infrastructure across
AWS and GCP, ensuring the robust and scalable operation of AltumatimOS. This is a
critical role where you’ll drive our CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure-as-code initiatives, and
overall system reliability, while also contributing to our backend services built with
Quarkus.
Key Responsibilities
● Architect, deploy, and optimize multi-cloud infrastructure in AWS and GCP,
ensuring high availability and scalability.
● Design, implement, and manage advanced CI/CD pipelines for automated,
multi-cloud deployments.
● Implement and enforce cloud security best practices and ensure SOC 2
compliance across all environments.
● Manage and enhance DevOps tools and platforms including Docker,
Kubernetes, Terraform, Jenkins, and Bitbucket.
● Ensure system reliability, performance, and observability through proactive
monitoring and incident response.
● Collaborate closely with AI engineers, product managers, and backend teams to
deliver seamless end-to-end solutions.
● Contribute to the development and maintenance of backend services using Java
+ Quarkus, focusing on operational efficiency and scalability.
● Experience with Argo CD for continuous delivery and Keycloak for identity and access
management.
● Experience with database management (SQL) and Elasticsearch in cloud
environments.
Qualifications
● 5+ years of hands-on experience in DevOps and cloud engineering, with a
proven track record of managing complex multi-cloud environments (AWS and
GCP).
● Deep expertise with DevOps tools such as Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform,
Jenkins, and Bitbucket.
● Strong understanding and practical experience with CI/CD pipelines,
infrastructure-as-code, and cloud security principles.
● 3+ years of backend development experience in Java, with strong knowledge of
Quarkus or other modern Java frameworks.
● Experience working in Agile development teams and using Jira (or similar
tools) for task tracking.
● Solid problem-solving skills and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced startup
environment.
Nice-to-Haves
● Experience with microservices and event-driven architectures.
● Familiarity with AI/LLM systems or distributed data platforms.
● Extensive knowledge of observability and monitoring tools (Prometheus,
Grafana, CloudWatch, Stackdriver).
Education & Certifications
● Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related
field preferred (not required).
● Equivalent hands-on experience will be considered in place of formal education.
● Relevant certifications are a plus:
○ Cloud certifications (AWS Certified DevOps Engineer, AWS Solutions
Architect, Google Cloud Professional Cloud Architect, Google Cloud
Professional DevOps Engineer).
○ DevOps certifications (e.g., Kubernetes CKA/CKAD, HashiCorp
Terraform Associate, Jenkins, Docker).
○ Java development certifications (e.g., Oracle Certified Professional,
Java SE).
○ Agile or Scrum certifications (e.g., Certified Scrum Developer, SAFe
Agile) are a bonus.
