Role Summary
As a Consultant / Senior Consultant in Azure Infrastructure, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality work products within defined timelines. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, mentor junior members when required, and engage with onsite/offshore stakeholders to gather requirements and ensure seamless execution of cloud infrastructure initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
1. Azure Architecture & Design
- Design and implement Azure Landing Zones and multi-subscription architectures.
- Develop scalable, secure, and highly available cloud infrastructure solutions.
- Implement governance frameworks using Azure Policy and Management Groups.
2. Infrastructure as Code (IaC)
- Provision and manage Azure resources using Terraform, ARM Templates, Bicep, and Ansible.
- Automate infrastructure deployments and configuration management.
- Implement CI/CD-based infrastructure automation.
3. Azure Networking & Security
- Configure and manage Virtual Networks (VNets), Subnets, NSGs, Azure Firewall, and User Defined Routes (UDRs).
- Manage identity and access using Azure RBAC and Microsoft Entra ID (Azure AD).
- Implement security best practices using Defender for Cloud and Key Vault.
4. Cloud Native & Platform Services
- Deploy and manage Azure Virtual Machines, VM Scale Sets, AKS, App Services, Functions, SQL Database, Cosmos DB, and Storage services.
- Configure auto-scaling and optimize resource utilization across services.
5. Monitoring, DR & Optimization
- Set up monitoring using Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, and Application Insights.
- Integrate third-party monitoring tools (Datadog, Dynatrace, Splunk).
- Implement backup and disaster recovery using Azure Backup and Site Recovery (ASR).
- Optimize cost and performance using Azure Cost Management and Advisor.
6. Delivery & Process Excellence
- Participate in Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, retrospectives, and estimations.
- Conduct peer reviews and ensure adherence to quality standards.
- Drive process improvements, automation initiatives, and knowledge-sharing sessions.
- Collaborate with stakeholders across the full SDLC lifecycle (design, development, deployment, defect resolution).
Required Skills
- Strong hands-on experience in Azure infrastructure provisioning using IaC tools (Terraform, ARM/Bicep, Ansible).
- Expertise in Azure networking, identity management, and governance frameworks.
- Experience managing multi-subscription environments and landing zones.
- Proficiency in PowerShell, Shell scripting, and Python for automation.
- Knowledge of Azure cloud-native services and container orchestration (AKS).
- Strong understanding of security, compliance, and monitoring in Azure environments.
- Good understanding of Agile/Scrum methodologies.
Preferred Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in Azure Infrastructure roles.
- Microsoft Certifications:
- Azure Administrator Associate (AZ-104)
- Azure Solutions Architect Expert (AZ-305)
- Azure DevOps Engineer Expert (AZ-400)
- Experience in cost optimization and performance tuning.
