Job Summary
The Senior Cloud AWS Engineer is responsible for developing conceptual, logical, and physical IT engineering designs that support complex infrastructure requirements across a variety of technical and business application projects. This role analyzes business requirements and translates them into scalable, secure, and reliable infrastructure solutions. The Senior Cloud AWS Engineer also develops testing strategies, leads implementation plans, and supports the transition of technical solutions into operational environments.
This is a senior-level position requiring deep hands-on experience, technical leadership, and a strong understanding of industry best practices.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and implement cloud-based infrastructure solutions, including conceptual, logical, and physical architectures. Serve as a hands-on engineer for projects involving development and implementation of strategic cloud and infrastructure initiatives.
- Develop migration strategies and lead the transition of applications and services from on-premises environments to public, private, or hybrid cloud platforms (IaaS, PaaS).
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex issues across hardware, operating systems, cloud services, and integrated subsystems.
- Oversee proactive problem management activities to ensure stability and resiliency in cloud hosting environments.
- Implement changes to business and technical systems while ensuring minimal disruption and maximum compliance.
- Analyze, update, and maintain system logic, architecture documentation, and technical standards.
- Assess risks, recommend remediation strategies, and authorize changes based on established risk levels.
- Evaluate, select, and recommend new technologies, tools, and platforms to support organizational goals.
- Manage cloud change, incident, and problem workflows using standard ITSM tools and processes.
- Monitor system performance and ensure adherence to architectural, security, and audit requirements.
- Lead complex, high-impact technical projects, effectively coordinating internal teams and resources.
- Train and mentor technical staff on cloud technologies, tools, processes, and best practices.
- Ensure compliance with internal audit policies, security guidelines, and enterprise standards.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- 6+ years of experience delivering IT infrastructure or cloud engineering solutions.
- Hands-on experience with public, private, and hybrid cloud platforms, including planning, design, development, migration, and integration of cloud-hosted applications.
- Strong experience with AWS services and cloud security tools such as AWS Config, AWS Inspector, GuardDuty, etc.
- Practical experience with Terraform or other Infrastructure-as-Code tools.
- Multifaceted Expertise: Proficient in CI/CD automation, SDLC, Cloud computing (AWS), Python, Bash, and Ansible, demonstrating versatility across a range of technologies.
- Ability to manage competing priorities, adapt to rapid change, and work effectively in a dynamic environment.
- Strong understanding of cloud architecture best practices, security, compliance, and operational resiliency.
