Our Client is looking for an experienced DevOps Lead to drive the development of a scalable, secure, and high‑performing infrastructure that powers modern backend services. This role is ideal for someone who thrives at the intersection of DevOps, backend engineering, and cloud architecture someone who enjoys building automation, improving system reliability, and leading technical teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the implementation of DevOps best practices, including CI/CD automation, Infrastructure as Code (IaC), and container orchestration.
- Architect, develop, and maintain secure, scalable backend services using a microservices-based approach.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to embed DevOps methodologies across the software development lifecycle.
- Optimize cloud environments (AWS, GCP, or Azure) for performance, reliability, and cost.
- Strengthen system resilience through effective monitoring, logging, and fault‑tolerant strategies.
- Implement secure networking, firewall configurations, and access controls.
- Build and maintain backend APIs, integrate databases, and optimise messaging systems (Kafka, RabbitMQ, etc.).
- Drive automation for testing, deployments, and rollback strategies ensuring zero-downtime releases.
- Conduct root cause analysis for production issues and lead continuous improvement initiatives.
- Mentor and guide junior engineers in DevOps and backend best practices.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
- 6+ years of experience as a DevOps Engineer or Backend Engineer with strong DevOps focus.
- Proven expertise in designing and automating CI/CD pipelines.
- Hands-on experience with major cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure).
- Proficiency in backend development using Node.js, Python, or Java.
- Experience with microservices, SQL/NoSQL databases, and messaging queues.
- Solid understanding of security best practices and network fundamentals.
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
- Experience mentoring or leading junior team members.
Nice to Have
- Experience with Kubernetes and Docker.
- Knowledge of IaC tools like Terraform or CloudFormation.
- Familiarity with cloud security frameworks and compliance standards.
- Understanding of distributed systems, caching, and performance tuning.
- Experience with monitoring and logging tools (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, etc.).
- Strong understanding of algorithms and data structures.
