Role Overview
As a Founding DevOps Engineer, you will be at the core of building and scaling SpatialChat’s platform from the ground up. This role requires a startup mentality taking ownership of the product, wearing multiple hats, and moving fast to build, iterate, and deploy features that shape the future of virtual collaboration.
You will design and implement systems that integrate live video, audio, and multiplayer interactions, while working with a small team in the early stages of the company. The role requires hands-on development across the full stack, rapid problem-solving, and a commitment to building scalable, reliable, and high-performance systems.
Responsibilities
- Drive automation initiatives to streamline repetitive tasks and improve system efficiency
- Collaborate with engineering teams to ensure smooth and efficient deployment of production services
- Implement and maintain deployment pipelines to support continuous delivery (CI/CD)
- Troubleshoot and resolve infrastructure and application performance issues
- Design, implement, and maintain scalable cloud infrastructure to support production workloads
- Collaborate with compliance teams to ensure infrastructure and processes adhere to regulatory requirements
What We’re Looking For
- 1–4 years of experience in a Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) or DevOps Engineer role
- Experience with containerization and orchestration tools (Docker, Kubernetes)
- Proficiency with Python and Shell scripting
- Experience with configuration management tools (Ansible)
- Experience installing, configuring, and monitoring Linux systems in physical data center environments
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines and version control systems (Jenkins, Git, Argo CD)
- Experience with cloud environments (AWS, GCP)
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) principles and tools (Terraform)
- Experience with logging and monitoring tools (ELK stack, Prometheus, Grafana)
- Ability to participate in on-call shifts and incident management, including after-hours/weekend support for releases and deployments
