AWS Cloud Engineer scope of work
Primary focus: Hands-on AWS implementation, account configuration, networking, security controls, and operations execution.
Phase 1
Account & Environment Setup
- Implement automated account provisioning and access management
- Configure central infrastructure management accounts
- Configure networking pipelines for VPCs and connectivity (optional)
Core AWS Implementations
- Implement IAM structures, access controls, and role configurations
- Implement network segmentation and security boundaries
- Implement tagging standards and encryption controls
- Deploy and support EKS, serverless, container, and compute foundations
Operations & Reliability
- Implement Cloud Ops baseline (incident workflows, alerts, runbooks)
- Implement backup, archival, and central logging for AWS services
- Support disaster recovery configurations and exercises
Phase 2 – Operations Expansion
- Implement standardized backup & DR solutions
- Support reliability and resilience playbook implementation
