This role represents a shift from traditional infrastructure-focused DevOps work toward hands-on application development combined with cloud platform expertise.
The ideal candidate is an application-leaning cloud engineer who can write production-quality code, build internal services and integrations, and deploy and operate those solutions securely within Azure environments.
Key Responsibilities
Design, develop, and support cloud-based applications and internal services on Azure
Build application components using Python and/or Go, with the ability to support Java-based services
Develop and maintain Azure-native services such as Azure Functions, APIs, App Services, and Logic Apps
Integrate applications with Azure identity and access services (Entra ID, RBAC, managed identities, service principals)
Implement CI/CD pipelines to support application build, test, and deployment workflows
Partner with platform, security, and architecture teams to ensure solutions meet enterprise governance and compliance standards
Support production applications, including monitoring, troubleshooting, and incident resolution
Contribute to architectural discussions spanning application design, identity integration, and cloud platform usage
Required Qualifications
7–10+ years of experience in software engineering, cloud engineering, or application development roles
Strong hands-on development experience with Python and/or Go
Working knowledge of Java (supporting services, build processes, or application maintenance)
Experience deploying and operating applications in Microsoft Azure
Familiarity with Azure services such as Azure Functions, App Services, APIs, Logic Apps, and Key Vault
Solid understanding of identity and access management concepts (RBAC, managed identities, service principals)
Experience implementing CI/CD pipelines for application delivery
Ability to support and troubleshoot production systems in enterprise environments
Preferred Qualifications
Experience building internal tools, shared services, or platform applications
Background in identity, security, or governance-focused engineering
Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code tools (Terraform preferred)
Experience with containerized applications and Kubernetes (AKS)
Knowledge of monitoring, logging, and audit integrations in Azure
