Vidoori is a digital transformation leader recognized for delivering excellence in cloud and software solutions. As we expand our cloud engineering capabilities, we are seeking an experienced Cloud Engineer to join our team. This role presents the opportunity to design, build, and operate secure, scalable cloud platforms and to collaborate across engineering, product and security teams within an inclusive environment that values continuous learning and practical innovation.
Role Overview – Cloud Engineer
Reporting to senior technical leadership, the Cloud Engineer will implement cloud-native solutions, automate platform operations, and contribute to the architecture and operational practices that enable secure, reliable delivery. The role combines hands‑on engineering with cross‑functional collaboration to accelerate delivery, reduce operational risk, and improve platform resilience. You will work closely with developers, platform engineers and security colleagues to deliver production-ready cloud services and to continuously improve tooling and processes.
Key Responsibilities – Cloud Platform, Automation And Reliability
- Design, implement and operate cloud infrastructure and platform services using infrastructure as code (IaC) patterns that enforce security and repeatability.
- Build and maintain automated CI/CD pipelines and platform integrations to support rapid, safe software delivery.
- Manage containerisation and orchestration platforms (Kubernetes or similar), including deployment patterns, observability, scaling and lifecycle management.
- Develop and maintain IaC modules and templates (Terraform, CloudFormation or equivalent) to reduce configuration drift and accelerate provisioning.
- Automate operational tasks using scripting and tooling (Python, Go, Bash or similar) to improve reliability and reduce manual intervention.
- Implement monitoring, logging and alerting to provide actionable visibility into platform and application health and support incident response playbooks.
- Collaborate with security and compliance teams to apply cloud security best practices (IAM, secrets management, network controls) and to support audit requirements.
- Troubleshoot production issues, perform root cause analysis and drive remediation to prevent recurrence.
- Contribute to platform roadmaps, capacity planning and cost optimisation initiatives.
- Share knowledge through documentation, runbooks and coaching to uplift team capability and promote operational excellence.
Essential Skills And Experience – Cloud Engineering And Automation
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
- Proven experience (typically 3–7 years) in cloud engineering, platform or operations roles working with AWS, Azure or GCP.
- Hands‑on knowledge of IaC tools such as Terraform or CloudFormation and experience authoring reusable modules and templates.
- Experience with container technologies (Docker) and orchestration platforms such as Kubernetes, including deployment patterns and operational best practices.
- Familiarity with CI/CD tooling (GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Jenkins or similar) and practices for automated builds, tests and deployments.
- Strong scripting and automation skills (Python, Go, Bash or similar) and experience building tooling to support platform operations.
- Good understanding of cloud security fundamentals: IAM, network segmentation, secrets management and encryption principles.
- Experience with monitoring and observability stacks (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK/EFK or similar) and alerting strategies.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to diverse audiences and to produce clear operational documentation.
Desirable Skills – Cloud-Native Practices And Security
- Relevant cloud certifications (AWS, Azure, GCP) or platform/operator certifications are advantageous.
- Experience with policy-as-code (OPA, Gatekeeper), IaC scanning, and integrating security tooling into pipelines.
- Familiarity with service meshes, observability enhancements (eBPF), runtime protection and secure software supply chain practices.
- Practical experience with cost management, capacity planning and multi‑account or multi‑tenant cloud architectures.
- Background in incident response, post‑incident reviews and continuous improvement of operational processes.
