Associate Cloud Engineer
Optomi, in partnership with one of the world’s most recognized and trusted electric power holding companies, is seeking an experienced Cloud Engineer. The ideal candidate will perform platform automation, assist product teams with problem resolutions, routine maintenance tasks, reviewing health checks alerts and escalating as necessary, and assisting with updates and patching.
Experience of the right candidate:
- Experience with cloud platforms, especially AWS, including networking, infrastructure management, automation, GoLang programming, and cybersecurity best practices.
- Proficiency with Linux and Windows environments, as well as Active Directory and Infrastructure as Code tools.
- Familiarity with networking fundamentals, data center infrastructure, Platform-as-a-Service solutions, AWS, and Azure.
- Experience with scripting or programming languages such as Bash, Go, Python, or PowerShell.
- Knowledge of containers and micro-services architectures.
- Understanding of IAM roles, Sentinel policies, Terraform Enterprise, Vault, and Apigee Hybrid.
- Possession of Terraform or AWS certifications is strongly preferred.
Responsibilities of the right candidate:
- Develop software platforms and frameworks, including platform automation and defining the process and cadence of upgrades & changes.
- Maintain services, monitor system health, and continually look for improvements.
- Scale systems sustainably using continuous deployment and automation.
- Research and implement best design principals in order to improve reliability and velocity.
- Work in an agile environment and engage in practices such as XP, test driven development.
- Works with technical staff to understand problems with software and resolves them.
- Resolves customer complaints with software and responds to suggestions for improvements and enhancements from customers.
- Collaborate with other engineers, developers, designers, and product owners.
