e&e is seeking a Cloud Operations Engineer for an onsite contract opportunity in Moorestown, New Jersey!
Seeking a highly motivated Cloud Operations Engineer to join our engineering team. This role is ideal for someone with a strong background in containerization, orchestration, and cloud-native technologies, who can also collaborate effectively across technical and non-technical teams. The individual will play a key role in maintaining an onsite virtualization environment.
Qualifications & Education Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
Required Qualifications
- U.S. Citizenship is required.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a government security clearance.
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
- 5–7+ years of experience in Cloud Operations, Site Reliability Engineering (SRE), or DevOps.
- Hands-on experience with Podman, Docker, and Docker Compose in production environments.
- Strong experience deploying and managing Kubernetes clusters.
- Proficiency with scripting languages such as Bash and Python.
- Experience with version control systems, including Git.
- Experience working with Integrated Development Environments (IDEs), such as Eclipse.
- Experience with monitoring and logging tools such as Prometheus and Grafana.
- Strong understanding of networking, security, and Identity and Access Management (IAM) concepts.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to communicate technical concepts effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Comfortable participating in team planning sessions and stakeholder meetings.
- Familiarity with driver-based and automated test environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and support containerized environments using Podman, Docker, and Docker Compose.
- Deploy, monitor, and scale applications running on Kubernetes clusters.
- Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines to support reliable and repeatable deployments.
- Collaborate with development, security, and product teams to plan, deploy, and maintain services.
- Create and maintain operational documentation, procedures, and runbooks.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with the following is considered a plus:
- Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform and Ansible.
- Podman in rootless environments.
- Operating within IL5/IL6 compliance environments.
- Cloud platforms including AWS, Azure, and/or GCP.
- High-availability or regulated environments (e.g., HIPAA, SOC 2).
Industry Experience
- 5–7+ years of related professional experience.
