Radley James is working with a leading global financial institution seeking a Cloud / DevOps Engineer to join their growing infrastructure and platform engineering team.
This role will focus on building, supporting, and automating cloud-based environments that underpin business-critical applications. You'll work closely with development, operations, and platform teams to improve reliability, streamline deployments, and enhance observability across distributed systems.
Key Responsibilities:
• Develop and maintain automation solutions using Python and scripting tools
• Support and optimise cloud infrastructure across Azure and AWS environments
• Manage and improve CI/CD pipelines using tools such as Azure DevOps, ArgoCD, Jenkins, and Git-based workflows
• Support containerised applications running on Kubernetes and Docker
• Implement monitoring, logging, and observability solutions to improve system reliability and incident response
• Troubleshoot production issues, perform root cause analysis, and collaborate with engineering teams to resolve complex technical challenges
• Work with cloud networking, security, storage, and messaging technologies to support scalable and resilient systems
• Contribute to infrastructure automation and Infrastructure-as-Code initiatives
Required Skills:
• Experience working in Azure and/or AWS cloud environments
• Strong Python or PowerShell scripting skills
• Experience with Kubernetes and containerised applications
• CI/CD experience using Azure DevOps, Jenkins, GitHub Actions, ArgoCD, or similar tools
• Understanding of networking fundamentals, cloud security, and distributed systems
• Experience troubleshooting production environments and performing root cause analysis
• Familiarity with monitoring and logging tools such as Elasticsearch, Kibana, Prometheus, Grafana, or similar
• Experience working with messaging technologies, databases, or event-driven architectures
Desirable:
• Terraform, CloudFormation, or other Infrastructure-as-Code tools
• Ansible or other configuration management platforms
• Experience with Kafka, RabbitMQ, Redis, or MongoDB
• Financial services or other highly regulated environment experience
