Our client in Northern NJ is seeking a DevOps Engineering consultant. This position requires to work onsite 3 days a week in Northern NJ. Local candidates only/ No Relocation.

Purpose of the Role (Mission-Critical):
This role strengthens and evolves the dynamic infrastructure that powers applications. The engineer ensures stability, consistency, automation, and security across all Production systems while enabling fast, reliable software delivery.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.
- 3+ years of hands-on experience with Linux Administration, Windows Administration, and IIS Management, including deep knowledge of IIS configuration and operational concepts.
- 3+ years working with Amazon Web Services (AWS) — EC2, S3, CloudFormation.
- Proficiency with scripting and automation using Bash, PowerShell, Python, and working with XML.
- Strong understanding of web technologies: REST APIs, SPA concepts, HTTP GET/POST, headers, and response codes.
- Skilled with development and build ecosystem tools: XML config management, REST API interactions, HTTP debugging.
Proven experience with CI/CD technologies, including:
- Atlassian Bamboo
- Octopus Deploy
- MSBuild
- NUnit
- Git
- Maven
- Docker
- Demonstrated passion for technology, automation, and continuous improvement.
Principal Responsibilities & Essential Duties:
1. CI/CD Pipeline Administration & Automation – 60%:
- Build, maintain, and enhance Development CI pipelines of moderate complexity.
- Configure build plans, manage software configurations, and assist developers with build failures.
- Ensure end-to-end automated deployments succeed across environments.
- Support automated provisioning of AWS resources using CloudFormation and related tooling.
- Provide input on Cloud environment design, setup, and implementation.
2. Production Support & Troubleshooting – 30%:
- Assist developers with server-side issues, environment misconfigurations, and application errors.
- Participate in Production outage investigations, perform root cause analysis, and implement corrective actions.
- Monitor Production systems and proactively take action to maintain stability, performance, and uptime.
3. Production Migrations & Off-Hours Support – 5%:
- Execute off-hours Production migrations and deployments.
- Provide after-hours support for troubleshooting mission-critical applications when required.
4. Developer Tooling & Environment Support – 5%:
- Support developers with the setup and configuration of development tools, including Git repositories, monitoring tools, and related services.
- Contribute to improving developer experience and operational efficiency.
