I’m recruiting a junior to midlevel IT Cloud Engineer (AWS/GCP) to work onsite downtown San Francisco for a very cool satellite firm. You must have excellent communication skills, be motivated and ambitious as this firm is growing fast.
Note: You must be a US Citizen and able to pass a strict background screen due to the nature of this firm’s work. NO C2C/visa holders/OPT/F1 will be considered.
This role is an Internal Cloud IT Operations / Infrastructure Administration supporting their operations and internal development groups. You’ll be assisting these teams by designing, deploying and managing AWS and GCP permissions, creating projects/accounts, network services and other ad-hoc tasks. You’ll need to know Terraform for provisioning, bash or python for scripting and automation. Success means translating complex infrastructure patterns into clear, user-friendly documentation and self-service tools that empower other engineers.
This is a Contract-To-Hire position, with an expected base salary of ~ $140k. Hourly W2 pay is expected to be $60-70/hour W2 DOE. We offer medical, dental, and a Roth IRA, we contribute $$ towards your medical premium. Conversion to FTE is expected to be next year.
The Role:
- Design, deploy, and manage cloud infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code on GCP and AWS
- Automate operational tasks and improve system reliability through scripting
- Implement and manage networking solutions within cloud environments to ensure secure and efficient data flow
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of our cloud platforms
- Write clear, concise documentation, runbooks, and architectural diagrams to scale knowledge across our engineering org.
- Actively participate in design reviews and technical discussions, translating internal stakeholder requirements into reliable infrastructure solutions.
Minimum Qualifications:
- 2+ years of relevant and proficient experience in AWS and GCP
- Proficiency with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform)
- Experience with scripting languages (Bash)
- Experience with programming languages (Python, Golang)
- Strong technical and interpersonal communication skills—the ability to articulate complex infrastructure concepts to highly technical peers and cross-functional stakeholders and create runbooks and diagrams.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or similar
Preferred:
- Experience with CICD GitOps development (GitLab / GitHub Actions)
- Experience administering and troubleshooting Linux systems
- Hands-on experience with Prometheus, Grafana, OpenTelemetry, or cloud-native logging (BigQuery/Cloud Logging, CloudWatch) to debug complex distributed system failures.
